Goodthings is a business located in White Bear Lake and Maple Grove, Minnesota. It is a retail store that sells clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry, beauty products, kitchen products, candy, Minnesota and White Bear Lake souvenirs, children’s toys and clothing, and seasonal gifts. Early history
editSharon Conrad originally founded Goodthings in 1973. She started a small clothing business in downtown White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She relocated several times in order to make her business a success. Her son Tyler Conrad decided to join his mother in the success of the store by merging their talents. Tyler received a degree in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. In 1998, Sharon and Tyler formed their store, Goodthings. In 2003, Tyler’s wife Michelle joined her husband and her mother-in-law in the business. She is currently a clothing buyer along with several others. Current History
editGoodthings, currently, has two locations. Each location is different in its own way. The White Bear Lake location has two stores. The gift store, which was recently renovated in the summer of 2014, is the main location of Goodthings. Next to the gift store in White Bear Lake, there are a newly built clothing store and Lifecore yoga studio. Goodthings in Maple Grove is just one combined store of clothing and gift items.
Expansion
editIn the summer of 2014, Goodthings decided to expand their White Bear Lake location. They ended up purchases a building two doors down and completely renovated its inside and out. The store has two levels. The first level contains all of the everyday fun clothing items, jewelry, shoes, and accessories. The bottom level has yoga clothing and a new Lifecore yoga Studio.
Brands
editGoodthings has a lot of brands that are purchased by specific buyers for each category of merchandise. The merchandise is meant to appeal to everyday buyers and local White Bear Lake or Minnesota residents. Goodthings popular brands include: Alex and Ani (jewelry): Charm bracelets that are “infused with positive energy”. [3]
