The Michigan high school track record book [1] lists a Wally Weber from Mt. Clemens as having thrown the javelin 171-10 in 1930. That is still the fourth longest in Michigan high school history. But by 1930, Weber was coaching high school football in Benton Harbor. Either the date is wrong for the javelin throw, or there was another athlete named Wally Weber with the same hometown of Mt.
