Format
editI made a small contribution to this article by beginning to format it in accordance with the project. The article is still needs work, specifically the table that now resides in the NH section could be re-homed or incorporated in another way... JordanSealy 13:06, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've rewritten the table in the New Hampshire termini section as prose, but I did so with no actual knowledge of the history (randomly stumbled on this page). I don't know, for instance, why the highway shrank in 1939 back to its original northern terminus. Hopefully someone who knows will explain that, and maybe spruce up the text with more information. --ScottAlanHill 03:56, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
NH route description
editI've added the route description for the central part of NH. It may be missing some towns whose villages or centers it doesn't cross, as well as junctions and joinings with other numbered routes other than I-93 in Franconia Notch. It's also short on geographical commentary (notable river crossings, proximity to the mountains, etc). Magicpiano (talk) 16:53, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Which bridge is it?
editThe article here makes two conflicting claims; that US 3 starts and MA 3 ends at either the Longfellow Bridge or the Harvard Bridge. There's also a claim that AASHTO states that US 3 begins at the Boston University Bridge. So, which bridge is it? Does anyone have an actual good source for this routing? --Jayron32 11:52, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
Southern Terminus
editThis article contradicts itself. In one place, it says that the southern terminus is on the Longfellow Bridge, presumably at Charles Circle. Another place says that the southern terminus is on Memorial Drive, at its interchange with MA 2A (Mass Ave / Harvard Bridge). Which is correct? It used to be ambiguous as to whether its southern terminus was on Memorial Drive, at its interchange with the BU Bridge (MA 2), or if US 3 and MA 3 split and US 3 overlapped MA 2 across the BU Bridge and ended at Commonwealth Ave (US 20). So it seems that there are 4 different possible locations for the southern terminus of US 3: Longfellow Bridge at Charles Circle (Boston) Memorial Drive at MA 2A (Mass Ave / Harvard Bridge) interchange (Cambridge) Memorial Drive at BU Bridge interchange (Cambridge) BU Bridge at Commonwealth Ave (US 20) (Boston / Brookline border) Mitsguy2001 (talk) 16:46, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
