Screen Gems' first years

edit

Screen Gems was into animation starting in 1934, not 1940. I've seen an image of a cartoon that had the 1934 copyright stamp by Screen Gems, Inc. King Shadeed 22:08, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I admit that I am speculating here, but this was probably a reissue print of one of the earlier Mintz-produced shorts, with the copyright reassigned to the subsequent owner. Ted Watson (talk) 19:48, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Date format in citations

edit

A references section was added on 30 May 2010 in this version. The date format used in this case was an all-numeric one, which is not good practice. The first non-numeric date appeared on 16 September 2010 in this version in the format "Month DD, YYYY". --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:43, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

A little FYI, DoctorHver, Jeannie and Partridge Family 2200 A.D. weren't completely produced by Hanna-Barbera. The former was first co-produced by Screen Gems and the latter was co-produced by its successor, Columbia Pictures Television. Both of them are based on I Dream of Jeannie and The Partridge Family and are both Columbia properties. I don't see what you're gaining out of moving both of those series when I reverted your edit and another user's about that the same thing!

Former names

edit

This studio was originally called The Charles Mintz Studio which was founded in 1931 and not in 1933. I think we should add that it was originally called said Charles Mintz Studio? What do you think? Also, it's predecessor is Winkler Pictures which was renamed the Mintz Studio after Margaret Winkler was supplanted by her husband Charles Mintz. Also, W.J. Winkler Pictures was renamed Winkler Pictures as of 1924 according to here: https://www.newsweek.com/disney-origins-walt-margaret-winkler-hungarian-immigrant-1478670 --Evope (talk) 02:25, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Evan Kalani OpedalReply

founded

edit

Why does this page say that Screen Gems was founded in 1949? It was 1933 when it was founded. It had Screen Gems Inc. as of 1948. --Evope (talk) 19:00, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
