editI haven't been able to find any major information about 'ghosting,' the technique that Rocco has pioneered. I've seen some videos of his in which they describe it, but haven't had a chance to get my hands on them yet. Anybody have any info to add?
Aaah, virtually all decent electric bass players use this method. Jaco Pastorius was the master of this method, which involves simply playing notes percussively on dampened or only partially fretted strings, often but not always followed by the same note fully fretted. Heart Work
editF. Rocco Prestia also had recent heart work done. Anyone have details, references? Rainbow-five (talk) 04:52, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
About the article's substitution with a (roughly) translated text
editHi, I've writen several articles on electric bass, its history, manufacturers and key players on the Spanish version of Wikipedia.
Since we don't have any Rocco Prestia' picture on Commons, I've contacted with Prestia's manager, wich is the method I ussually use in order to incorporate some new material on Commons. He has asked me a translation of the spanish text, wich I've roughly done. I've substituted the original english text just because I think the spanish version (wich in any case integrates some elements of the english version) is a little more comprehensive and because the most of the work was already done. It would be great if some editor coould correct the obvious gramathical and ortographical mistakes on the text, but if you think it's too much work, just revert my edition. Thanks, --Serolillo (talk) 08:57, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
"One of the most important figures in electric bass' history"
editThat statement needs some sort of reference. Surely we can scrounge up something out of a magazine? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.51.16.254 (talk) 14:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- The hero-worship continues throughout the article. 80.7.183.30 (talk) 13:28, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yup. Rocco is a great player, but this article is purely fan-bwai worship with a few grammatical howlers for comic effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.68.134.1 (talk) 17:42, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
Stage Name
editWhat's the origin of his stage name, "Rocco Prestia"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.113.167.24 (talk) 06:26, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
