The result of the move request was: page moved with apologies to the dab team since there are over 3,000 links that will need to be cleaned up. Vegaswikian (talk) 21:04, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Mexican (disambiguation) → Mexican — Typically when I say "Mexican" I mean either a person from Mexico (i.e. Mexican people) or, more colloquially, Mexican food (this is common in the UK, anyway - "I'm going for a Mexican tonight"). I am very unlikely to be referring to the country of Mexico. Hence the current redirect is IMHO not correct, and a disambiguation page would be more appropriate. — Amakuru (talk) 23:14, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Support - Mexican currently is a redirect to Mexico. As Amakuru has expressed, "Mexico" is not demonstrably the primary topic for "Mexican". I think users would find the disambiguation page far more helpful than the current target. Additionally, the proposed move would make Mexican consistent with English, Spanish, Greek, American, Brazilian, Irish, and French, all of which are disambiguation pages. (I find, however, that Australian is a redirect to Australia and Canadian is a redirect to Canadians.) --Orlady (talk) 02:02, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
