In response to the PROD, here are a few sources to establish notability, courtesy of Newspapers.com: [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. There are many others on Newspapers.com, and I imagine other offline sources exist as well. WP:NPOL notes that unelected politicians "can still be notable if they meet the general notability guideline", and Hoover does, particularly considering WP:BASIC's guidance that "[i]f the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability".
