"Normal"?

edit

I followed the link "Lincoln Normal School" to this page from the "Alabama State University" page, hoping to find out what "Normal" meant. Maybe someone who knows could add it in? Or is it so obvious to everyone else, and I'm just a little slow? - Aren't they *all* "normal" schools.. y'know, except for the few(or whatever) that aren't..? Moving This Article

edit

The school this article seeks to discuss began life as Lincoln School shortly after the Civil War. Not long after its founding, control of the school was ceded to the American Missionary Association. As the school flourished, a "normal school" was added to train African American teachers. Later, the normal function was moved to Montgomery and became ASU. I say all of that to say, this article should be retitled as Lincoln School (which was the correct title for the permanent 1-12 school) with a section about the addition of the normal school and its removal to Montgomery. If anyone is watching this article, I would appreciate some feedback before I change the title so we don't get in a back-and-forth thing about the title. Thanks.
