There seems to be no official site for the essay itself. However, digital packrats have filed away a table of contents for the issue of Electronic Publishing in which the essay was published, as well as a PDF of the essay itself. Jslabovitz 15:20, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
pdfTeX and "Little is known"
editLittle is known about the composition algorithm created by Zapf and implemented in Hz-program; [...] According to Zapf,[1] Hàn Thế Thành made a detailed analysis of the Hz-program for microtypography extensions to the TeX typesetting system and implemented them in pdfTeX. These are available as part of the LaTeX and ConTeXt typesetting packages.
— Hz-program#How it works
Could someone more familiar with this elaborate on how it is that "Little is known about the composition algorithm" if Thành made a "detailed analysis" of it for his doctoral dissertation?
