editI had posted a couple of other interesting photos in here of Maroon people in Suriname in the 1950s including one of a medicine man. Now I find they are missing and I can't find any reference to them being removed. Can anyone please tell my why and by whom they were removed, please? Details needed--Fact template reasons
editre: {{fact|EB does not mention Willoughby at all, so source needed badly}}, applied this date
- The Willoughby colony is not mentioned at all by the 2007 EB, I cited, though the conquest of the English colony in 1866 is mentioned. I suspect the Marshall's Creek colony was "re-colonized" (i.e. reinforced, perhaps with change of governor) in the same region, and the cash crop changed to sugar as that industry ramped up.
- In any event, source and additional details for the Willoughby colony needed, and that reconciled in the language with the Marshall's Creek settlement.
- Whether Marshall's Creek is a tributary or alternate name for the Suriname River is another loose end that needs established beyond doubt.

World War 2
editWhat did they do when the Dutch were conquered by Germany? Did they declare for the allies or what? BillMasen (talk) 23:17, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- They were rulled by the Dutch government in exile, in Indonesia (till 1941) and the Antilles happened the same, while the local government (which was elected by only a small part of the countyr) rulled over local affairs. In 1942 they were promised by the Queen that the Netherlands and collonies would be formed into a federation. Eventually, after Indonesian independance, it was decided to change this into a confederation. In 1954 Suriname, the Antilles and the Netherland became equal states of the Kingdom fo the Netherlands. Defense and Foreign policy would be governed by the confederal government while the local governments decided all other things. This continued untill the Dutch government decided to drop Suriname. --62.238.249.105 (talk) 13:14, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
