editOnly one reference... here's a fine project for someone who has a few of the better books on Gen. Custer. Jusdafax (talk) 09:04, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I added one, anyone else? By the way, I see there is a bio of Mrs. Custer by Shirley A. Leckie called Elizabeth Bacon Custer and the Making of a Myth. Have not read it yet, but any serious student of her life would no doubt enjoy it. Jusdafax (talk) 23:13, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Here's another reference source with a lot of material on Mrs. Custer: Touched by Fire: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of George Armstrong Custer by Louise Barnett. The author brings a lot up about her life I had not read before; hopefully I can add a bit more to this article. Jusdafax (talk) 15:41, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Met in 1862?
editIn the article on Custer, it is mentioned that the two first met when she was 10 which would be in 1852 rather than 1862.--Jrm2007 (talk) 21:21, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- Good point, and I have addressed your concerns, if at a long timespan. There is a great deal of mythology around both Custers, but a number of sources indicate a childhood meeting between them in Monroe. Thanks, and sorry to have taken so long to have responded to your quite valid observation. Jusdafax (talk) 05:35, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
