The sentence which claims "certain OTC drugs have small amounts" is totally false. That sentence sould be removed and the fact it is even posted is puzzling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.15.69.249 (talk) 14:22, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Saint-Moritz cocaine content
editFor those who can't read French or translate, that article claims that 1,400 lines of cocaine are insufflated each day (though I don't know how they would know the method of administration) during tourist season in 2006 in Saint-Moritz, they choose to test there because of the higher end tourism to see if it was a "rich person drug". I suppose this goes to show cocaine is not out of style among the upper classes in 2006. 67.5.147.48 (talk) 00:55, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- If anything, the word "line" is the questionable part, not being a very clear unit. Plus, cocaine usage rarely stops at one line per person per party. As to method of administration, that part's clear as can be: crack is largely unknown in Europe, and neither smoking of crack nor injection of anything have ever been documented at high rates in the social strata that frequent such places. Insufflation (snorting), however, is more than common.208.127.80.135 (talk) 23:04, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
Active?
editThe Tropane alkaloid article has this listed under a 'stimulant' section alongside cocaine. So is this an active metabolite of cocaine and a stimulant itself? The norcocaine article claims that it is the only 'pharmacologically active metabolite' of cocaine. Nagelfar (talk) 12:49, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
analgesic/anaesthetic
editThe term "topical analgesic" almost seems like an oxymoron... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.245.60.157 (talk) 02:05, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Stereochemistry in lead image
editThe stereochemistry of the methyl group about the nitrogen atom is different in the lead skeletal-structure image versus the balls-and-sticks image (and does not match the cocaine article). Which is correct? -- stillnotelf is invisible 00:18, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- The methyl group might not have a permanent specific direction off the top of the nitrogen, but rather be changeable by nitrogen inversion. DMacks (talk) 13:19, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Good call. -- stillnotelf is invisible 02:11, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
