Early life and education
editBorn in Malaysia, Ali completed his early education in the UK with two master's degrees from UCL and King's College London. He pursued higher education in New Zealand at the University of Auckland, earning a Doctorate degree in Civil Engineering with his research focusing on construction Law in 2016.[4]

His innovative methods prepare students for real-world challenges. Ali was promote to Associate Professor at Massey University in 2019. Since 2018, he has been adjunct professor at Sains Malasya University.

editNaseem Ameer Ali, past President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), has served in numerous international professional bodies. Currently, he is a committee member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (Auckland branch), a Council member of the New Zealand Society of Construction Law, and its representative on the Standards New Zealand contracts drafting committee. He aims to transform all construction contracts into plain language by 2030, leveraging his research on the benefits of plain language. He often showcases the Malaysian STCC-RSP 2015 contract, the first globally to receive Clear English Standard Accreditation from the UK's Plain Language Commission.
