Summary

Description
English: An early print of the Foundling Hospital.
The foundling hospital was founded by Thomas Coram and the idea of a hospital for less fortunate children has continued up to now but it is most commonly referred to as a care home. The word foundling means a small child and children and babies in baskets were dropped off and left on the door step to be collected by nurses.
