Velasquez is often also considered one of the top YouTube personalities in the Philippines.[3][4][5]

Early life

edit

Lincoln Cortez Velasquez was born on October 27, 1991 to Marlon Velasquez Sr. and Jovel Cortez Velasquez.[6][7]

Career

edit

Velasquez began uploading videos to YouTube in 2008. He started out as a vlogger, Videographer in Youtube and rose to fame in the Philippines by uploading comedy skits and parodies to the platform.[3] He also played the role of Moby in the 2016 Philippine television series My Super D.[8] He used to be a viner before entering YouTube in 2008.[citation needed]

Aside from being a vlogger, he is also a live streamer and a musician.[3][9][10] He is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Coln, which he formed in 2018.[10] He released his first music video as well in the same year on YouTube.[11] On December 3, 2020, his channel was included and ranked third on the list of the Top YouTube PH Creators of 2020.[5]

Personal life

edit

Velasquez has three siblings, two of whom are YouTubers as well: Marlon Velasquez Jr., also known as Junnie Boy, Patricia Velasquez, also known as Neneng Lamig, and Venice Velasquez. Both Marlon Jr. and Patricia have already surpassed one million YouTube subscribers.[12][13]

In December 2020, Cong TV and his girlfriend, fellow vlogger Viy Cortez, experienced the loss of their baby shortly after discovering the pregnancy.[14] A year later, Cortez shared the joyous news in a vlog that she and Cong TV were expecting another baby.[15] On July 5, 2022, Cortez gave birth to their son, Zeus Emmanuel "Kidlat" Velasquez.[16] The name "Kidlat" is a dedication to their fellow friend and vlogger Emman Nimedez, who passed away in 2020.

On November 3, 2022, in one of his video release, Cong TV and Viy Cortez announced their engagement.

After the prenuptial agreement by the beach and "Pamamanhikan", the couple's Catholic wedding was solemnly officiated on June 17, 2024 at L’Annunziata Parish Church in Victoria Homes Subdivision, Tunasan, Muntinlupa with special guest Alodia Gosiengfiao, among others.[17]

On September 25, 2024, Velasquez collaborated with famous American streamer IShowSpeed for a part three of his stream in the Philippines, as apart of his tour in South East Asia.[18]
