Bijar County (Persian: شهرستان بیجار)[a] is in Kurdistan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bijar.[3] The people of the county are Kurds and speak Kurdish.[citation needed]

History
editAfter the 2011 National Census, the villages of Pir Taj and Tup Aghaj were elevated to city status.[4]

editAt the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 95,461 in 23,614 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 93,714 people in 26,068 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 89,162 in 27,759 households.[2]
