Tonka is the title song of the 1958 film of the same name. It was written by George Bruns and Hazel "Gil" George.
Sung by a men's chorus for the feature, it was later cover by Wayne Sherwood for a record release that same year.
Lyrics[]
Tonka! Tonka! The brave one!
Swifter than the prairie wind
Stronger than the mighty oak
Great one, Tonka Wacon
Tonka! Tonka! the brave one
Wilder than a lighting storm
Braver than the bravest brave
Great one, Tonka Wacon
His coat is like the leaves of autumn
His eyes are brighter than the morning star
His moves are like the sound of thunder
Rumbling from afar
Tonka! Tonka! The brave one
Freer than a mountain breeze
Bolder than an eagle's heart
Great one, Tonka Wacon
His coat is like the leaves of autumn
His eyes are brighter than the morning star
His moves are like the sound of thunder
Rumbling from afar
Tonka! Tonka! The brave one
Freer than a mountain breeze
Bolder than an eagle's heart
Great one, Tonka Wacon
