Mars is the fourth planet in the Solar System. It has appeared in numerous Disney productions. Mars is slightly smaller than Earth as well as a cold planet, though it also boasts the tallest volcano of all, the Olympus Mons.
Mars is the home planet of a martian named Martin. The planet appears at the beginning of the film with a large city and hovering spaceships, one of which is what Martin uses to travel to Earth.
The story takes place in the year 2020, where a few trained astronauts head out to Mars and prepare to set up a base camp for future human colonization. They soon discover signs of what could be water or something else. However, three members of the first Mars team had died, and the survivor was alone. The astronomy space station back at Earth received a distress message and planned a rescue mission.
Martians come to Earth and kidnap Milo's mother for the purposes of transferring her brain into computer programming in order for robots to raise their alien babies. Mars is depicted as a gender-segregated planet, where technologically advanced women live in elaborate cities while the men are sent out into the junk-covered wastelands.
John Carter is transported from the Civil War era to Mars, where he becomes a warrior. Mars, known as "Barsoom", is a slowly dying world where the Red Martian cities of Helium and Zodanga are at war over dwindling resources, Tharks (or Green Martians) scavenge from their conflicts, and the world-hopping Therns seek to fan the flames of their self-destruction.
This program from the Walt Disney anthology series explores the historical events of man's fascination with the Red Planet throughout history and in science fiction, while speculating on how we might get to Mars and the possibilities of alien life existing there.
In "Astro-Nots", after reading a newspaper that says there are bugs hidden inside martian rocks, Timon and Pumbaa go to NASA in order to travel to Mars to find said bugs.
In "Unfair Science Fair", Phineas and Ferb use Baljeet's teleporting machine and accidentally transport Candace to Mars where she becomes the queen. She then leaves because of the aliens not giving her time for herself.
In "Scavengers of Mars", the Cosmic Explorers discover a long-forgotten underground Mars colony, which was once populated by the first Mars colonists, as well as harvested bamboo trees that were perfect for building purposes.
In "Goofy on Mars", Goofy crash-lands on Mars. It is then up to Mickey and his friends to rescue him.

Mars is seen in the 1964Carl Barks comic Interplanetary Postman, where the planet is inhabited by a green alien species.
In the 2016 comic Galactic Getaway, Uncle Scrooge takes his nephews and Gyro Gearloose to Mars in order to construct a hotel for millionaires. Because of an accident caused by Donald, the group is stranded on the red, dusty planet, and they are only able to escape back to Earth with the help of green martians that are discovered by Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
In the 2020 comic Zio Paperone e il ritardo marziano, Uncle Scrooge and his nephews travel to Mars to reprogram an exploration rover on the surface.
The 2023 comic Mickey's Martian Rover is set completely on Mars, 100 years in the future from Disney's 100th Anniversary. In this comic, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are living in a Mars colony called "Duckburgh 2" and experience an adventure when they plan to go camping with their "astrocaravan". The story is based on the cartoon Mickey's Trailer from 1938.
