Ekidna is a character from the Disney animated series, Gargoyles.

Personality[]
Ekidna shows an aggressive personality towards humans. She is shown to have a bitter attitude whenever she encounters humans, such as Elisa Maza when she first arrived at New Olympus. This could show that Ekidna has a misanthropic personality towards humans who arrive at the island of New Olympus, along with the other New Olympians who show prejudice against her.
Physical Appearance[]
Ekidna appears to resemble a hag with glowing red eyes and reptile-like characteristics - specifically having the appearance of a snakelike humanoid resembling that of a rattlesnake. She is shown to be wearing a plaid purple waist with green skin all over her body. Due to having characteristics of a snake, Ekidna lacks feet and moves by slithering.
Role in the series[]
In "The New Olympians", Ekidna arrives at the Senate House, interrupting Goliath's conversation with Boreas, telling him that humans are a threat to New Olympians, where she recaps of what humans did to their ancestors years ago, explaining to everyone that humans were their enemies. She then replies to Goliath that should he expect her to trust Elisa, this would result a backfire on the New Olympians which the crowd protests of humans being a threat to New Olympus. Later after Elisa is dismissed from the Senate House, Ekidna approaches Helios and Kiron presumably telling them to keep a lookout for Elisa on the city of New Olympus.
Ekidna later took part in a riot when she and the other New Olympians see Elisa on the streets where they threaten to kill her. Throughout the riot, Ekidna attempts to lunge at Elisa only for Angela to counter her which Taurus silences the riot, arresting Elisa again for causing a riot on the streets. Later when Elisa is placed into her cell, Ekidna and the other citizens riot against Elisa which Helios throws a fireball at her while Elisa tries to ask Taurus for help only for Taurus to silence the riot again. Ekidna talks to Taurus again telling him "Not by a long shot". Taurus replies to Ekidna to "take it up with Boreas" if she has a problem. Ekidna makes no further appearances after that, even after Elisa was rescued from her prison cell.

- Ekidna is one of the villains from the Gargoyles series to have a limited amount of screen time.
- Ekidna is named after the Greek mythological monster "Echidna" where she was a half-woman and half-snake and was a mate of the fearsome Typhon in Greek mythology.
