Disney's Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree is for children of all ages but is targeted at preschoolers through first graders. This CD-ROM focuses on both comprehension and word recognition (reading skills) through an explorative approach.
Winnie the Pooh is a funny bear. He lives in the Hundred Acre Woods behind the house of Christopher Robin, along with his friends Rabbit, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Owl, and Tigger. Like most bears, Pooh likes honey. In fact, it's his favorite thing to eat. So, when Pooh wakes up one morning only to discover that all his honey jars are empty, it's up to him to find more for breakfast. Unfortunately for Pooh, his love for the sweet sticky stuff gets him in more trouble than he'd bargained for. After being foiled at the bee tree, Pooh eats all of Rabbit's honey and gets stuck in Rabbit's front door. Though his friends try pushing and pulling, he's stuck. All they can do is wait for him to lose weight.
Features[]

Includes four games that introduce youngsters to beginning learning skills.
Sing songs with Pooh and catch butterflies with Roo.
Is capable of setting to Spanish-language mode.
Piglet does not appear in the story, but is the guide on the main menu and a toy game.
Tigger does not appear in the story either, but makes a cameo on some of the pages.
Kanga and Roo are absent during the scene when Pooh goes to visit Christopher Robin.
The issue with Eeyore's tail has been removed.
Gopher is absent during the scene where Owl talks to a stuck Pooh.
The scene where Rabbit makes a hunting trophy out of Pooh's butt has been heavily edited. In the featurette, he makes the trophy while Pooh is given honeysuckle flowers, before he sneezes and ruins all the work. The CD-ROM moves the honeysuckle sneeze scene five pages in. Also when Pooh giggles from Rabbit drawing a mouth on his butt, he erases it to start over unlike the featurette. There is also no shelf over Pooh's legs.
Roo comes in to bring Pooh the honeysuckle on his own; in the featurette, Kanga was with him.
The scene with Pooh's sneeze from the honeysuckle flowers is much stronger than it was in the featurette. In the latter, it was a mild sneeze that ruins Rabbit's hunting trophy; in the former, it is a more powerful sneeze that ruins everything in the house.
The scarf Pooh wears around his head is shown to have been given to him by Kanga.
The scene with Gopher's midnight snack and Rabbit putting down a sign reading "Don't feed the bear" was removed.
Trivia[]
All the misspelled words (such as HUNNY and RABBIT'S HOWSE) are corrected in this game. Even the misspelled words in the movie pictures of the sing alongs were digitally edited to show the correct spelling. These changes were probably done to avoid encouraging children misspelling.
Some of the instrument samples in the PC game, like the pizzicato strings, flute, xylophone and some other instruments, are from the EMU Proteus 2 Orchestral synthesizer.
