The Pursuer's Greatshield is a greatshield in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- Greatshield of the Pursuer. For those who can handle the weight of this shield, it offers resistance to curses.
- The Pursuer hunts down those branded by the curse, as if each Undead soul that he claims will atone one of his sins.
Availability[]
It can be obtained by trading the Soul of the Pursuer and 1,500 souls to Straid of Olaphis.
Characteristics[]
While it possesses no scaling bonuses and boasts a very high Strength requirement as well as a high weight, the Pursuer's Greatshield has well-rounded defenses, stability, and resistances, though the Lightning defense is quite low, making it a poor choice for blocking any Lightning-based attack effectively, as a large percentage of the damage will still clip through and damage the player.
Contrary to the description, the reduction of the Curse effect when blocking with the shield is equal to the reduction of the other auxiliary effects (65.0%) and it does not raise one's resistance to Curse. Nonetheless, this is typically much more than most other shields provide in terms of Curse resistance, save for a select few.
