Hammers are a weapon type in Dark Souls III.

Hammers are generally blunt weapons which inflict strike and/or thrust damage, depending on the specific weapon. They are the smallest-sized weapons which have Hyper Armor frames, allowing them to take advantage of Poise, though they are generally only effective at trading against similarly sized weapons. Offensively, they have moderate swing speed and crushing overhead strikes which are powerful for dealing with single targets, and they can deal Poise damage rivaling that of Greatswords. Most Hammers, with the exception of the Drang Hammers, have relatively low Dexterity requirements, making them ideal for Strength builds.
