File:Navarin, Albion.jpg
[edit]Uploading a colored file like this is completely wrong. For two reasons. The original was published in black and white, and should not be tampered with. This is the case when any file represents the original as the artist published it.
The other reason is, your new file is half the size and does not scale as well.
Your file should have been uploaded as a new file, an alternative.
While I'm at it these same rules apply to vintage art where some people want to crop out surrounds or captions. they are saved as new files, with the suffix (cropped). ̴̴
The only time it is permissible to overwrite a file is to make quality more detailed or more accurate to the orginal artist's vision. These are well established rules.
Also do not overwrite File:Albion at the Battle of Navarino.jpg. This is an alternative colouring. Images of this period were hand painted and therefore they always vary one against the other. ̃
We have three versions of this picture, so what your saying is that there should be four. Fair enough, I wouldn't, but you can; up to you...

- On top of that the file you overwrote is the most complete and original version we have it's the only file we have showing the key of contents within it. I am having to revert it manually. Thanks for wasting my time. Broichmore (talk) 12:52, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- After a lot of work, I nmay have sorted it, I haven't uploaded your piece of crap, aside from missing the caption, it's also had the image within it overcropped. Its only merit is that it's slightly differently coloured, then agan as I said we already have a coloured and more complete image and it has a caption. albeit minimal.
