Description
English: the ordinary American tobacco plant or Nicotiana tabacum, from Brett's Colonists' Guide, p261, a handbook of useful knowledge for European settlers in New Zealand, who were not used to southern hemisphere seasons and needed to learn a wide range of new farming skills. Nicotiana tabacum is the species to which belong all varieties cultivated in both Northern and Southern states. It is a native of Central America.
