Nederlands: Inwoners van Amsterdam wachten 's avonds op De Dam op de uitslag van de verkiezingen, waar de politie moet ingrijpen na relletjes van jongeren. In het krantencentrum houden leden van de KVP zich dmv de verkiezingsdienst op de hoogte van de uitslag, oa prof. C.P.M. Romme, prof. L.J.M. Beel en Marga Klompé. In de Koopmansbeurs komen leden van de PvdA bijeen, oa dr. Willem Drees, H.J. Hofstra en oud-minister Sicco Mansholt. Minister Joseph Luns baant zich een weg door de menigte naar hotel Krasnapolsky, waar de KVP bijeen komt. Nadat bekend is geworden dat de KVP heeft gewonnen, wordt Romme met luid applaus ingehaald en hij geeft in een toespraak commentaar op zijn verkiezing. In een andere zaal in Krasnapolsky geeft prof. Jelle Zijlstra van de ARP zijn indruk op de verkiezingen, alsook E.A. Vermeer, voorzitter van de PvdA. De VVD is bijeen in de zaal van kunstkring De Witte te Rotterdam, waar prof. Pieter Oud onder luid applaus wordt ingehaald. Hij geeft zijn mening over de winst van de VVD bij de verkiezingen, waarbij ze de derde partij in de Tweede Kamer is geworden. |
