Wiki Loves Monuments is an annual international photographic competition held during the month of September, organised worldwide by the Wikipedia community members with the help of local Wikimedia affiliates across the globe. Participants take pictures of local historical monuments and heritage sites in their region and upload them to Wikimedia Commons. The aim of event is to highlight the heritage sites of the participating countries with the goal to encourage people to capture pictures of these monuments and to put them under a free licence which can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone.
This year, by organisation of Wikimedia UG Georgia's members, Georgia is participating in the contest for the fourth time.
Join us contribute free-licensed photographs of the Cultural and Historical Heritage in Georgia!
Prizes
The top 10 photos qualify for the international final. The Georgian Jury also awards national prizes:
1. Place: Smartphone (Xiaomi)
2. Place: Camera (Canon ZoeMini)
3. Place: Earbuds (Xiaomi Wireless Earbuds)
Why participate?
Georgia is one of the oldest states in the world, which has a rich history and culture. This contest is a great opportunity to bring your camera, go to the heritage sites listed, take some photos and show the history and culture of Georgia from your point of view to the rest of the world!
Participating in the contest is a great way to experiment and learn which photos that gain recognition. You certainly don't need to be a professional photographer to take photos useful for Wikipedia. Here's a great chance to try it out! Entries to the local competition are eligible for selection to the international finale and did we mention there are prizes to win?
Competition rules

All entries must be original photographs uploaded by their authors.
All photos must be uploaded within September 2020, to be eligible
All photos must be under a free license
Participants must have an active email account.
Lists of eligible sites are published on Georgian.
Captions and description are required

If there are any doubts about the implementation of the rules, the jury decides.
