Flags without the coat of arms and coats of arms without the Heart?
editThank you very much for your kind message. The recent arms are questioned for being considered a personal creation. I am making changes but it is not convenient to upload new files until that the discussion be resolved, if it is positive.
Thank you very much for the invitation, unfortunately at the moment I don't have much time to create other categories of coats of arms, but I would be delighted if they were completely reused or modified in your project.

Historical flag of Brasil (1822-1853)
editGood Morning. Could you please reverse the edit that an editor made to that file? There is an editor practicing vandalism with some historical symbols on Commons. He makes changes without considering the sources of books and documents that already support such symbols. Thanks.--Almanaque Lusofonista (talk) 09:52, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

editSince you changed the color of the First Westendorp Proposal Flag for Bosnia and Herzegovina https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:First_Westendorp_Proposal_of_BiH_flag.svg so it's match the UN-Flags colors Could you do the same for the Coat of arms https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina_1998-2001.svg ? UN blue
editHi. I see you changed a proposed Antarctic flag to UN blue. There are also File:Flag of the Antarctic Treaty.svg and File:Emblem of the Antarctic Treaty.svg, which an editor in 2013 changed to what they claim is the official dark blue color, which looks to me like NATO blue. They don't say how they determined what the official color is. Not all blue emblems and flags associated with the UN are necessarily UN blue, but I assume most of them are. Do you have any idea in this case? Kwamikagami (talk) 20:01, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

Alash autonomy
editFlag colors are not based on description in the Barlybek Syrtanov's constitution, because it's not a reputable source. It based on the Sultan Khan-Akkuly's work (https://e-history.kz/ru/news/show/4529). If he chose this arrangement of flowers, then there was some sense in it. Kazman322 (talk) 08:25, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- so why isnt the constitution a reputable source? in all honesty we could just upload both versions and i think thatd make everybody happy NorthTension (talk) 11:26, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- You see, the flag was mentioned in the early 1910s, and Alash-Orda appeared only in 1917. Itself (according to the constitution) to call this flag the flag of Alash-Orda would be an original research, one's own statement. There is also an authoritative source by which we must navigate. Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!
editRead this message in your language
Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the PIT.svg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Logo of the PIT.svg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- Whoops, that was an auto-tag by Twinkle when I labeled it as lacking permission. You can disregard. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 17:02, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Wa National Unity Party logo.svg.
Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Wa National Unity Party logo.svg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

How did you revert files?
edit@NorthTension, There is a lot of reverting files of flags and coat of arms, Please go to your uploads please, Donkmoda (talk) 02:30, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
File:Coat National Bolshevik Party.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
Flag of Argentina
editIn january, I started a new topic in the Flag of Argentina file talk page warning about differences between the Wikimedia Sun of May and the one shown in the IRAM norm which is the official depiction, a user replied asking what inconsistencies and I replied him sharing a link with an image of the Wikimedia Sun and the "official" one interposed (the link is now broken). Some months later, an anonymus user replied saying that "The shape of the elements are exactly the same" and giving excuses like "the image of the sun in the PDF is pretty jagged and low quality" which don't convince me, so I want you to revise the 2 suns and tell me if you would change something because I think it's a very notable difference. Evidence for the Emblem of the Republic of Afghanistan (1973–1978)
editHello NorthTension, on the revert history page for the Emblem of Afghanistan under Daoud Khan’s presidency, you mentioned that we would have to support the fact that the older version of the emblem was more accurate than the current one. There is now evidence that proves this.
1) Search up “Sardar Mohammed Dawood khan 1974” by Pamir Studio Tv (on YouTube) and skip to 10:55 (I apologize for the inconvenience, it won’t let me link you to YouTube)
2) This pin ==> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195745866178
3) Please feel free to zoom in on this Afghan government almanac from 1974. http://afghandata.org:8080/xmlui/handle/azu/15354
4) Same for the 1975 Almanac http://afghandata.org:8080/xmlui/handle/azu/15355
Thank you for reading :) AfghanParatrooper19891 (talk) 03:09, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
Flag of Andorra (end of the 19th century-c. 1930s)
editHi, I saw that you recently uploaded a new version of the old Andorra flag. The crown in this file is incorrect from the beginning. Could you post a drawing like the one shown here, or something similar? Even if it's not the original flag, it's a good reconstruction that matches the blurry drawings from the era. The most important thing is that it contains only outlines and 5 rings at the top. Old versions of the file show a better but imperfect crown that can be used to help. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 13:19, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
- I can't draw but I can re-use the older drawing thats on the page to make an approximation, would that be fine? NorthTension (talk) 13:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
- Then the outlines from the old drawing are still the best option. Remember not to change the order of the stripes, because old versions still have this bug. Thanks for everything you can do. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 17:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom 1837
editIs there any way to remove the small emblem in the middle of this badge and re-upload it as "Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (1837)"? This does not require changing other designs and patterns. Use this file to edit File:Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (1816-1837).svg Remove the Hanover coat of arms in the middle of the coat of arms Let the pattern in the middle change from the original (File:Royal Arms of United Kingdom (1816-1837).svg) to this (File:Arms of the United Kingdom (since 1837).svg), and the other patterns do not need to be modified. 2401:E180:8850:710E:83FF:71F7:637A:818E 04:15, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- What I mainly want you to do is use the coat of arms I mentioned, make the modifications I want, and then upload it as a new file. 2401:E180:8840:DA74:6A87:4B6B:4B44:2258 17:05, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Text to path
editHello, Why did you change the text of File:Flag of Springfield's State.svg to a path when I am completely sure that the text should render correctly on the Wikimedia Commons? It's not like Times New Roman is an uncommon font. If you like, I can add Liberation Serif to the style attributes. --Minoa (talk) 22:16, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- It's less rendering issues and moreso that flags really shouldn't be having unpathed text on them, it will look jank depending on the platform. I do this for every single flag and emblem/coat of arms I come across that still has it; if you really want to keep it unpathed you can revert it and I won't touch it again. NorthTension (talk) 22:20, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- I think we should revert the file to the original apart from the attribute change: unlike real-world flags, simple text on a fictional flag like Springfield's State in The Simpsons doesn't seems to matter much, especially since the one that appeared "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish" episode used hand-drawn text. However, I set Liberation Serif as the default font to match the rendered rasterised image, with Times New Roman then sans-serif as the fallback. --Minoa (talk) 23:13, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

File:Second War Flag of Chinese Soviet Republic.svg
editHello. When you reverted, I forgot to tell you why I did the revert. It's because you used the color palette of the modern Chinese flag, which the colors were only standardized in 2021. So I reverted as at the time, It would have the colors of this flag: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_the_People%27s_Republic_of_China_(alternate).svg, which is the original colors of the Chinese flag. So your harmonization of the flag is historically inaccurate. Wheatley2 (talk) 23:51, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- And you can confirm that those specific colors were in use? NorthTension (talk) 00:00, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- Before the standardization, the flag had the colors of the alternate flag. Look it up, there is plenty of proof that this was the official flag colors. Wheatley2 (talk) 00:03, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- I asked you to confirm for me, not for you to tell me to look it up myself. If you're going to start citing old Wikipedia files I'm just going to politely ask you stop right there and not to ever bother me about this again. NorthTension (talk) 00:09, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have real proof. Check this and on Image 1 of that slideshow, you can see the Chinese Flag, clearly with the alternate colors. Wheatley2 (talk) 00:12, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
