Description
English: Olavinlinna (literally St. Olof's Castle in English) is a 15th century castle located in Savonlinna, Finland. The castle is the heart of the Savonlinna Opera Festival. Since the castle works as an opera house, it gives a spectacular environment for music and theatre. The castle was founded in 1475 when Finland was the Swedish frontier against the Russia. The castle is located on an island in a strong current between two lakes.
