We’re happy to announce the launch of Wiki Loves Ramadan 2025, an annual international campaign dedicated to celebrating and preserving Islamic cultures and history through the power of Wikipedia. As an active contributor to the Local Wikipedia, you are specially invited to participate in the launch.
This year’s campaign will be launched for you to join us write, edit, and improve articles that showcase the richness and diversity of Islamic traditions, history, and culture.

Universal Code of Conduct annual review: provide your comments on the UCoC and Enforcement Guidelines

I am writing to you to let you know the annual review period for the Universal Code of Conduct and Enforcement Guidelines is open now. You can make suggestions for changes through 3 February 2025. This is the first step of several to be taken for the annual review. Read more information and find a conversation to join on the UCoC page on Meta.
The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) is a global group dedicated to providing an equitable and consistent implementation of the UCoC. This annual review was planned and implemented by the U4C. For more information and the responsibilities of the U4C, you may review the U4C Charter.
Please share this information with other members in your community wherever else might be appropriate.

Vraagje. Sommige Surinaamse media zetten filmpjes op YouTube met een Commons-licentie. Soms zit hun logo in de weg voor gebruik in een artikel op Wikipedia. In de foto hiernaast heb ik dat weggepoetst. Als je er niet op let, zie je het niet, maar ik gebruik MS Paint dus je ziet het wel als je beter kijkt (hier linksboven in de hoek). Mag ik zo'n foto ietwat bewerkt op Commons zetten? Ymnes (talk) 17:15, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
- Met betrekking tot het verwijderen van het logo, zie ook Commons:Watermarks en m:Wikilegal/Removal of watermarks from Commons images.
- Wat in ieder geval belangrijk is om te vermelden wat er aangepast is. Op cc.org is dat zo verwoord:
(...) De gebruiker dient de maker van het werk te vermelden , een link naar de licentie te plaatsen en aan te geven of het werk veranderd is . (...)
- Hoewel je niet verplicht bent om exact te vermelden wat de wijzigingen zijn, zou op basis van bovengenoemde Wikilegal pagina wel exact vermeld moeten worden wat verwijderd is, zodat die informatie niet verloren gaat. Dat zou immers als naamsvermelding gezien kunnen worden. In deze verwijdernominatie suggereert ook iemand dat het ook noodzakelijk is om de ongewijzigde versie (met logo) ook te uploaden naar commons. Dat kan eventueel alsnog gedaan worden door het origineel eroverheen te zetten, en daarna te reverten naar de versie zonder logo. --Wimmel (talk) 23:27, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
- Over elkaar heen uploaden zou een oplossing voor de toekomst kunnen zijn. Ik heb zelf inderdaad ook wel eens uitspraken gezien op Commons van gebruikers die hier moeilijk over doen. Voor de zekerheid heb ik er net daarom voor deze bijgezet dat het logo verwijderd is.[1] Om deze reden snij ik het onderwerp ook aan, omdat ik van "Remixen – afgeleide werken maken" in de licentie het gevoel krijg dat het mocht. After review of the feedback, proposals for updated text will be published on Meta in March for another round of community review.

pagina indeling
editOP Category:Rasphuispoort heb ik de pagina indeling gewijzigd. Op de vorige indeling, was erg veel wit. Zijn er regels voor zo'n pagina indeling? Groet Agaath (talk) 15:36, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

- Waar het zou moeten staan, is onder het subkopje Commons:Guide to layout#Category pages, maar dat ziet er nog uit als werk in uitvoering. Bij gebrek aan beters volg ik vaak en:MOS:ORDER, voor zover van toepassing op een categorie i.p.v. artikel. --HyperGaruda (talk) 06:45, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Overigens zie ik nu (iets) meer wit dan voorheen in de rechterbovenhoek en ik kijk naar de nieuwe Wikimedia-skin. Waarschijnlijk een kwestie van vensterbreedte, want als ik mijn venster smaller maak in de vorige indeling, dan snap ik wat je bedoelt met "erg veel wit". --HyperGaruda (talk) 06:55, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
