On to the project!!!! I created a pair of bib cards starting with a kit from The Paper Cut.  It includes the pre-cut cards and the overlays to place on the outside, inside or both. I've always been interested in stamping my own random word background so I created one for these cards. I used almost all of the 27 stamps in the Limited Edition: Joy set from Clear and Simple Stamps. Plus a couple of stamps from Hero Arts and Stampin' Up! to complete the card.

Here's a closer look at the first card. This one-of-a-kind card is perfect for spreading holiday cheer!

Supplies:

·       Clear and Simple Stamps – Limited Edition: Joy stamp set
·       Stampin’ Up! – Itty Bitty Bits, 25 & Counting, embossing buddy
·       Dotted heart stamp – stash
·       Stampendous - Nativity Christmas, Detailed gold embossing powder
·       Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle – Midnight Maddness: Detail, Opaque, glitter embossing powder
·       The Paper Cut  - bib cards & overlays, black mirricard cardstock
·       Bazzill Basics – White cardstock
·       Martha Stewart – scalloped circle layering punch
·       Gold, silver adhesive glitter cardstock – stash
·       Memento Ink – rhubarb stalk, ladybug
·       Versafine ink – Onyx black
·       Encore ink – Metallic Gold
·       Stazon ink – Jet Black
·       Nicole Heat tool
·       Tim Holtz grid blocks
·       Multi matte medium
·       Xyron 2.5”, 5”
·       Scotch ATG

In order to create the word collage I used my grid work surface to line up the stamps before pushing them onto a acrylic block all at once. The gridlines help you keep everything straight.

The second card boast bold color, glitter cardstock and glitter embossing powder from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle for that extra special flair. Stazon works best when stamping on glitter paper.

Cards Galore Encore Challenge 2: Bling it Up!

Challenge 2: Bling it Up! is live at Cards Galore Encore
This month create a project and add a gem, pearl, or some glitter etc. Easy peasy right?

Our Sponsor is Scrapper's Delights and the prize is 3 of their Digis

I fell in love with Scrapper's Delights Love Fairy 2 and thought it was perfect for Valentine's Day. It is February... ya know!! It comes with and without wings, colored or not colored. It's so versatile and fun to color. Minimal shading is needed to make this image look it's best. I re-sized it (to make it bigger) in word before printing. The quality and array of digis at Scrapper's Delights is second to none!

Here's a closer view of the coloring (to see the whole card scroll down). I am new to coloring and having fun learning new techniques. To create the color for the hair I combined gray and blue. Any coloring tips are greatly appreciated. Just leave me a comment below! Thanks!

To bling it up, I added ultra fine glitter with a quickie glue pen to her outfit and some love glitter tape across the bottom of the card. A little will do ya for this challenge but feel free to add more to your project entry if you like!

Supplies:
  • Scrapper's Delights - Love Fairy 2
  • Copic Xpress It Blending card
  • Copics - 0, Hair: C1, C3, C5, C7, B45; Skin: E11, E13, E15, R81; Outfit: RV09, RV13
  • Copic Multiliner - black
  • American Crafts 5x7 pink card
  • Darice - heart embossing folder
  • The Stamps of Life - standup4sentiments
  • Quickie glue pen
  • Recollections - Glitter tape
  • Queen and Co. - chevron washi tape
  • Sparkle n Sprinkle - ultra fine transparent crystal glitter
  • Scotch ATG
Here's the whole card. I am so into washi and glitter tape these days! I can't get enough of it. It offers just the right amount of contrast and style. I also love the combo of pink, hot pink and white. The standing sentiment is from The Stamps of Life and is the perfect accompaniment for the image.

I hope you enjoyed this presentation and will consider entering the challenge this month! I can't wait to see your entires (3 max).

Inspiration post: Get Inky! Challenge 15 - Buttons on a Halloween card

Have you heard???
There's a new exciting challenge over at the Get Inky! Challenge blog - Buttons on a Halloween card. It's my day to offer inspiration here and on the Get Inky Stamps blog.
Pop over and leave me some love! Pretty please?!

I am crazy for chevron so I decided to make this fun Halloween card using DCWV cardstock. I love how it shines just enough. The card base is a black American Crafts tri-fold card. To create the opening, I cut a square from black DCWV chipboard and stamped with Get Inky!'s 2013 Halloween Spooktacular set (available on Etsy) in versa mark. I then heat embossed with detailed embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. It's called vanilla ice (Vanilla ice, ice baby.... dun dun dun dundun dun!) so I had to buy it. It's semi transparent and has glitter in it. Buttons accent the sentiment. Don't ya just LOVE the font?

Opening the card reveals Halloween patterned and plain paper from my stash, and more buttons. The Get Inky! stamp is perfect for the occasion and stamped well in Memento black tuxedo ink. I left some room for a handwritten message. I'm just in love with this style of card. I hope you enjoyed it and will consider joining in on the challenge and picking up some Get Inky! Stamps soon.
