X & Y chapter titles

The first full-size volume of the X & Y chapter of Pokémon Adventures has been released in English, and the round titles match those received in the mini-volume releases. Can/Should they be readded now, or do we wait for future volume releases to do so? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:43, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

I'll play the "just in case" card and say wait till the respective volumes come out. Ataro (talk) 08:59, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
Figure you would do this which I am prepared to follow as well since I am very patient and can wait it out. I would appreciate it if you left more titles from the invisible notes as much as possible so when I can verify the information it would be easier to deal with. The only slight change is the removal of the question mark in the title of PS558 in the volume version, but unlike the Black and White chapters that were changed that is too minor to consider as a trivia note. -Tyler53841 (talk) 07:30, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello

Hi, I created this template here based on what exists for the anime, but I put the characters from Pokémon Adventures. Would that be of any use here? I did it because I noticed that it's a little complicated to find some pages and some "characters of the day" from the manga end up being left out. In a way, this manga also has an extensive chronology just like the anime, so maybe it deserves a template of its own.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 20:36, 02 February 2022 (UTC)

Similarities between Arezu and Silver

Your statement is wrong for the aforementioned reason : the hairstyle, aka the swept bangs, is shared with Silver but not with Mars. I was just stating a fact, and besides nothing in game tells she's related to Mars either, meaning nothing rules out the possibility that she could even be a common ancestor to those two characters, Hisui and the ancient version of Johto aren't that far after all. ---- Braviapert 07:44, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello, it has been two weeks since I didn't get a reply from my answer. I would appreciate if I get a reply from this, thanks. ---- Braviapert 11:57, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
I felt one was unnecessary, but if you really want it. The answer is still no. Arezu has a shared name origin, makes a blatant nod to her descendant being a member of Team Galactic, and even uses Bronzor and Purugly in battle. These are clear references to Mars, yet as far as I can recall, nothing connects her to Silver. If a similar hairstyle was all it took to be an ancestor, we might as well list everyone with similar haircuts, like Roark. Ataro (talk) 23:31, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
Yeah the common ancestry with Roark is still a possibility due to the similar haircut. Yes, even a similar haircut can connect two characters in Legends Arceus, and besides, Arezu and Silver have the same outfit color : dark blue. So, you're still wrong about the fact they have nothing in common. -- Braviapert 16:02, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

You're strawmaning, the argument was not "they have nothing in common" but "they do not have enough in common". Saying that even a haircut is enough is oversimplifying. MissDelibirda (talk) 19:06, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Well the wiki pages talk about resemblances between an ancestor and a descendant without going into details, and appearances are enough of a common thing when said that way. -- Braviapert 23:18, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Casey Raboot

Hey. I was wondering if you agree that now is a good time to move User:Rahl/Casey's Raboot since it got a nickname.--Rahl (talk) 11:22, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

JN126 title

To me, that title seems to say "dream(s)". Why do you think it says "Mew"? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:48, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

The summaries formatted the title that way. Ataro (talk) 22:28, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
Okay. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:42, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
The title contains the word "yume", though, which means "dream". Nothing in regards to Mew. Hence why I'm inclined to agree with the user who changed it back. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:54, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
The kanji says "yume", the furigana says "Mew". It's saying that Mew is Goh's dream. Using furigana to have a character say something when they mean something else is an incredibly common thing in Japanese media. Ataro (talk) 19:22, 17 September 2022 (UTC)

Pokemon Adventures updates

After the most recent volume release which for the third time in a row it still had the original English Titles, I can say there is a higher chance that VIZ is keeping this titles for the main volume releases. Now excluding the obvious case with Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire getting new chapter names (I had already expected to happen prior to the first volume release, it might be something you can reconsider since it will help decrease the workload. Any minor title changes for a chapter two can easily be updated for that chapter page link only as well as the new chapters that were not part of the original mini-volume release. The only unique case I did with the removal of the Question mark at the end of the the title What Does Charmander Do When It Dozes was just remove it from the list of rounds page for that chapter, nor did I add that in as trivia like with the changed titles from the Black and White chapter since it was not trivia worthy to mention the ? symbol. Only the original mini-volume release will now carry that symbol.

On another note I am thinking of changing the other volumes mentioned in Trivia into "Other Volumes" with a description for other volume releases with pretty simple wording. The volumes mentioned in the first chapter of the Black and White chapter serve a good example to this since my original plan years ago was to list the other volumes and the mini-volumes released in Japan since the X and Y chapter started can also be listed there too, since it is too much work to modify a template to include all the volumes and could get confusing. I am best capable of modifying templates carefully, but not creating the coding itself.

Whatever your choice I will abide by it and in regards to the first paragraph this will be the only time I will bring the subject up, but just remember it would make an easier workload without having to check all the links since I use the "What links here" button to monitor links to find the ones that need updating. Also on the side I have been helping taking care of adding the disambiguation page for those chapters so far. -Tyler53841 (talk) 21:29, 13 September 2022 (UTC)

There's always a chance of being wrong, and that's a risk I'd rather avoid. As for your second point, I don't really mind. Ataro (talk) 21:45, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
Okay, but just remember the first time it happened during one of the Black and White chapters, it was easily fixable, but I promise not to let that interfere when I verify the chapter the next time it comes out. On the side one of the advantages of the whole digital releases is it allows me to access it anytime of the day instead of waiting for my Amazon delivery to arrive in regards to the physical release (which is pretty much what I currently using to help with the Sword & Shield English releases). One last note so you are aware of it is the source of the eISBN codes for the English digital releases comes directly from VIZ's website, by checking the digital section for that volume, which is where I get the code for it. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:38, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

Pages to approval/delletion

Hello, I'm reviewing some pages I created and I wanted to know your opinion about them. The one for the Sun and Moon tournament tried to follow the pattern that is already used in anime tournaments and created a template where the main characters of the manga would be.

The Sword and Shield rivals I wanted to know they might be useful. They are not ready yet but if they are not of interest to the staff I would like to ask for their deletion. Finally, I would like to request the deletion of the Gym Leaders Tournament page.

Thank you in advance for anything.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 11:31, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Manga files

Hi, I'm writing to you because abcboy told me you are the head of the manga project.

I need a favor, the first thing is that if you don't have Discord, I need to be able to talk to you in some social network, I need to give me images of Ash Ketchum of his appearances in the manga, but I need them to be full body images, that is frontal with a good posture.

I can show you examples of what I'm looking for, I need them urgently, it's for a project I want to do about the character as a farewell, I've created an account here and I use a translator just to talk to you n.n--DiegoelZorro:The Z of wisdom 12:24, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but even if you told what you needed, there's little chance I'd have the images you needed. Ataro (talk) 08:56, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
And do you know any link where you can see all the manga based on the anime, both series and movies? I only know this place Internet Archive but not all of them are here. So I could search for the images I need myself.--DiegoelZorro:The Z of wisdom 18:53, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi, in the manga adapted from the anime, can you tell me the exact number of volumes and chapters with Ash?
I have looked at that of the adaptations Pokémon manga#Anime adaptations, there is 1 manga of the series and 11 manga of movies, that there is no quantity is not said.--DiegoelZorro:The Z of wisdom 00:04, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Henry's Urshifu

Hey, is this page ready to be mainspaced? User:Rahl/Henry's Urshifu --Rahl (talk) 22:16, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Any thoughts on this? It's been over a month since I asked.--Rahl (talk) 09:28, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

About my trivia about liko

Isn't Liko the first main female character to have a shoujo manga? I checked all the other main female characters they don't seem to have one, I know Chloe is in a shoujo manga but she wasn't considered a main character. Can it be put back? (CuteSylveon42 (talk) 04:06, 7 May 2023 (UTC))

I'm just going to put it back, if it's still not notable, can you explain why? since you're the chief in manga. (CuteSylveon42 (talk) 05:10, 7 May 2023 (UTC))
First of all, don't add something that was removed back without an actual discussion first. Judging from the timestamps, you didn't even give me an hour to reply. Secondly, there are dozens of manga based on the anime, so she's not special in that regard. Whether it's shojo or not isn't really relevant. Ataro (talk) 06:23, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Upcoming Sword and Shield release note

Just to let you know the product summary of the upcoming English release of the Sword & Shield Volume 7 on VIZ's website has the English name for Henry's Mr. Rime being listed as Kayne, an obvious reference to "cane". As the volume is still around 3 months away I have no intention of touching it beforehand, but I wanted to give you the heads up to this.-Tyler53841 (talk) 23:39, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Project tags

Hello, I noticed there is an inconsistency with adding project tags (e.g. project manga, project TCG) onto the bottom of pages. The Project Manga tag requires the article to be completed while project TCG and CharacterDex does not and is required to be placed on all related TCG and CharacterDex articles, regardless of article completion. Is there any particular reason for this? This has caused some confusion to me as it feels some tags clash against each other such as the double project notice with Manga and CharacterDex as the Project Manga notice requires the article to be completed but the CharacterDex does not, especially with characters from mangas with both those project tags. PASV01

Hey, I saw you deleted the page for PASV01 with the reasoning that we don't make pages for them until they're collected in a volume. That's news to me, and I was wondering why that's a rule. If the chapter has been published in a magazine, that's reason enough for us to start covering it, right?

Also, as an aside, I'd like to know if there's a way to review/retrieve previous revisions of a deleted page. If the rule is that PASV01 can't exist in the mainspace yet, I'd at least like to preserve the work put into that page in my userspace until it can be mainspaced. Storm Aurora (talk) 18:08, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

I restored the page for you, Storm. It's free for you to move into your userspace (but I certainly agree that being published should be enough to start coverage.) MaverickNate 18:13, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
Alright, I admit that outright deletion was jumping the gun. I apologize. I tend to make rash decisions when it's late at night and I haven't slept. As for not making pages, this is something we've been doing for years now (if you check, notice how I've only made pages for chapters once their respective volumes come out). It's mostly a precautionary thing. Pokespe's release schedule is...complicated, (though admittedly it's become less so over the last decade) and to ensure we know exactly where each chapter goes, it's best to just wait until they're properly collected. It saves us the headache of having to move and re-link pages multiple times over. Ataro (talk) 06:09, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I've been following Spe for over a decade so I understand how complicated its release schedule can be. It's been pretty consistently one chapter a month (in chronological order) since B2W2 ended, but they could throw us a curveball and start publishing half-chapters each month or something, so I suppose it's safer to wait. I just got excited because it's the first chapter of a new story arc, lol. Storm Aurora (talk) 18:45, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire chapter note

After checking out the new title for the volume version of PS594 I think that much like Japan the VIZ volume will also add new English titles to the volume releases, so I am thinking for List of chapters in the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc of Pokémon Adventures once this is confirmed in January 2024, then a small note about the chapter names for the original mini-volume release should be added either above the template or as trivia.

On a side note as the new updated template at the top of each chapter page now lists all known volume/mini-volumes for those chapters, on every chapter page connected to a mini-volume release, I have finished purging all the remaining trivia note-based postings of the original mini-volume numbers from this pages with the appropriate actions based the current setting of each page, as my previous project with it is no longer necessary. -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:30, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

ISBN

Hi. I would like to know if we have a standard for how to display ISBNs on Bulbapedia. Should we use hyphens (-) or not? If so, should we use the pattern that's in the manga or should we try to find out the registration group, registrant, and publication elements? Also, should we use ISBN-10, ISBN-13, or both? There's a 2011 line in Bulbapedia:Manual of style/Manga that says "For ISBN numbers, ISBN-10 is preferred over ISBN-13 when available, however, if only the ISBN-13 is known, it is acceptable to be added to the article.", but that seems really outdated.

Personally, I think ISBN-13 should be the standard, at least for anything released from 2007 onward, and maybe ISBN-10 for older things. Although, it should be noted that any ISBN-10 can be easily converted to ISBN-13. Also, no hyphens. It should also be noted that "The use of hyphens or spaces has no lexical significance and is purely to enhance readability.", according to the ISBN Users' Manual. --rafael.zinho (talk) 04:07, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

Pages for mainspace

Hey there. I was wondering if you'd be willing to mainspace any of these pages? I think all of them meet notability in some way. Here are the pages: User:Rahl/Sudobo, User:Rahl/Quarter, User:Rahl/Moon's Mareanie, User:Reinhartmax/Tera, User:Hikaru Wazana/Violet's Crocalor, and User:Rahl/Looker's Croagunk. Thanks--Rahl (talk) 01:46, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

It’s still a wee bit too early for Crocalor. The others don’t really get enough screentime to justify one. Ataro (talk) 04:23, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. Are we sure Toxtricity hasn't done enough? I know it is less than average, but Sword & Shield had much less screentime for the main character's Pokémon. Toxtricity contributed to Casey's journey and had a strong personality, and I think it's fair for Casey's second most used Pokémon to have its own page.--Rahl (talk) 11:51, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Tera really only had two moments of focus, and one of them (the Gym battle) was so brief I struggle to think it counts for much. Ataro (talk) 20:53, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

Regarding the edit i made on Liko and Roy's Adventure

I feel that the furigana was overused, why did you revert it? Hello12345678 (talk) 01:32, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

Question

Hi. Before asking my question, I’d like to explain why I made the changes.
First, as you know, Kalos War is a fan term. Unless it is very significant, like how the fandom refers to Legendary Pokémon groups, I think we should avoid using fan terms. Additionally, this war might not be the only one that the region has experienced throughout its entire history. Thus, for those reasons, I reckon “the Kalos war occurred” should be changed to “a war occurred in Kalos”.
Second, I replaced the image of the ultimate weapon because it is already present on its own page, while the war’s image is not currently in use. However, if its aspect ratio affects the aesthetic, I’ll be fine with that.
Third, the Dated history section looks a little plain, and the war’s image fits well with the section. So, I thought it'd effectively serve for the purpose of illustration.
Back to my question, could you please explain why the changes I made on the two pages were reverted? Fawfaw (talk) 17:57, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

Your edits were reverted because you uploaded and added an image taken from the recent leaks. People are currently trying to discuss how to deal with the leaked content and it’d be appreciated if people didn’t touch it until said discussion is done. Ataro (talk) 20:43, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
Oh, all right. Since the image was actually used in the cutscene, I thought it wouldn’t be inappropriate. I won’t do anything related to that image, but I have some questions now.
  • Changing the phrase to “a war occurred in Kalos” is still acceptable as it’s not associated with the leaks, yes?
  • What are we going to do with things related to past leaked/prototype/deleted contents? They’re all over the site, such as how this table states that the Hoenn and Kanto games take place at the same time, which was from a deleted tweet.
  • Where exactly can I see the final decision regarding the Teraleak, for I'd like to know eventually whether images from cutscenes and finalized concept art will be accepted or not?
  • Once everything has been settled, should we create a page about the leaks? They won’t be about the stolen information, but how the events occurred and affected the fandom, plus emphasize how people should consider unreleased and deleted contents as non-canon as those are only WIP.
Thanks. Fawfaw (talk) 18:25, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Latias and Latios

Why did you revert the additional inspiration of Latias and Latios's names I added? I know that for now it's better to not talk about the leak, but since it's just speculation on the trivia section then it's not really obvious how do we know/suspect it.--Rocket Grunt 14:38, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

And now you're rolling back the addition about possible inspiration for the Hoenn Elite Four... I thought the trivia sections were for things that aren't necessarily proven but seem very likely. Asking for 'actual evidence' feels dismissive because the evidence is already explained in the trivia bullet points. All four members match well with characters from the book, and on top of that, Ever Grande City resembles Paradise City from the book—it’s even described as 'paradise' in the game.--Rocket Grunt 23:20, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
