Template documentation
View or edit this documentation. (About template documentation)
Note: portions of the template sample may not be visible without values provided.
This template is to be used to link to core series games which have the word "Version" in their titles. By default, the output will not display the word "Version".
Generations VI onward do not use the word "Version", so this template should only be used for games from generations I through V.
If aiming to link to Black 2 and White 2, please use {{B2W2}}
instead.
Template fields
- field 1 (version name) - The name of the version, for example "Emerald". Paired versions can also be used with an "and" in between, for example "Diamond and Pearl".
- field 2 (suffix) (optional) - Any suffix to be added at the end of the word "Version". A common use case is putting an "s" here to link to "Versions".
- field 3 (display text) (optional) - The text to be displayed as the clickable link. If this is left blank, then "Pokémon
<field 1>
" (e.g. "Pokémon Emerald") displays.
Deprecated fields
The following fields are deprecated - any pages still using them should be revised to no longer use them.
- field 4 (second suffix) (optional) - Adds an extra descriptor to the end of the link, one space after field 2. This was originally a special case for Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Please use the template
{{B2W2}}
instead to link to those games.
