The Best Gift Ever (Japanese: 素敵なクリスマスプレゼント The Beautiful Christmas Present) is the 18th chapter of the Magical Pokémon Journey manga.
Plot
As Christmas approaches, Pikachu and Clefairy decide to make Hazel a frame for her photo of Almond. Pikachu waits at Clay Hill for Clefairy to arrive, and is surprised to see it come with tools and a sketchbook. The two each set to work on their own frame, with Clefairy putting lots of effort into its work. When they finish, Clefairy's looks elegant, while Pikachu's is far less polished. They both stand their frames up to dry, but Pikachu accidentally knocks over Clefairy's and shatters it. Clefairy then suffers a nervous breakdown and spends the rest of the day sulking in bed, to Hazel's confusion.
With feelings of guilt weighing down on it, Pikachu runs back to Clay Hill and attempts to recreate Clefairy's frame. It spends all night trying, keeping Clefairy's efforts in mind. The next morning, Clefairy tells Hazel the truth about Pikachu breaking the frame, and she suggests for it to return to Clay Hill. When Clefairy arrives, it discovers Pikachu tirelessly making frames. Seeing all of the work it has done, Clefairy breaks into tears and apologizes, and Pikachu does as well.
Later that night, Hazel, Almond, Peanut, Coconut, and Grandpa, as well as all of the Pokémon, celebrate Christmas together. Pikachu and Clefairy present their gift to Hazel, which is a drawing of her made by Clefairy inside of a frame made by Pikachu. Hazel is grateful, and the two Pokémon are delighted to see her enjoy their gift.
