Naomi

Naomi (Japanese: ナルミ Narumi) is a character of the day who appeared in Lapras of Luxury. She is a Pokémon researcher studying communication between Water-type Pokémon, specifically Lapras. She is the director and sole employee of the Marine Pokémon Laboratory.
She was studying the pod of Lapras that Ash's Lapras belonged to. Thanks to Ash and his Lapras, Naomi was able to discover that the herd came from the Orange Islands, something she hadn't known before.
After Team Rocket had netted the Lapras herd, Naomi ordered Ash and his friends into her submarine, the S.S. Innocent Coral, to follow after them. She used Ash's Lapras's own singing to track the caught herd, which led her to a wall of riptides and later an island where Team Rocket had stopped to catch their breaths. While Brock's Crobat dealt with Team Rocket's Pokémon, Naomi helped free the Lapras from the capture net.
Later, Naomi reported back to Professor Elm that Ash's contributions will help her to complete her thesis on Lapras migration patterns. She handed Ash the Pokémon Egg to be delivered to Elm before they left her lab.
