Combined illustration (TCG)

A combined illustration is a set of card illustrations that, when viewed together, form a larger image. The cards these illustrations appear on are typically drawn by the same artist and released together in the same expansion.

Combined illustrations are similar to narrative illustrations, which feature one part of a story and continue that story onto other cards.

Pokémon LEGEND and Pokémon V-UNION

The cards for Pokémon LEGEND and Pokémon V-UNION defintionally make use of combined illustrations. Each card only consists of a portion of the "full game entity", and are combined in some way during a game in order to put the Pokémon into play. Their artwork is spread across all of the involved cards, be that two cards for a Pokémon LEGEND and four cards for a Pokémon V-UNION.
