Hyrule Compendium Entry
Royal Claymore are part of the Royal Gear series. They are two-handed Weapons intended to be wielded by the Royal Family of Hyrule and the Royal Guard.[1] Being struck by one of these Claymores is said to destroy one's body and their resolve.[1] They have a base attack damage of 52.
Royal Claymore are scattered throughout Hyrule Kingdom. They can be found on the necklaces of Hinoxes. Stalnox can also drop Royal Claymore when they are defeated, particularly the one within Lockup. Other high-tier enemies, such as Silver Moblins, make use of them.
Royal Claymore can also be found in the following locations:
- Woodland Tower
- Nero Hill
- Hyrule Castle
- Various Ancient Shrines
- Coliseum Ruins (If only three Divine Beasts have been completed)
When the following amiibos are scanned with the amiibo Rune, they have a chance to spawn a Treasure Chest containing a Royal Claymore:
- Super Smash Bros. Series Young Link amiibo
- The Legend of Zelda series Series Link (Link's Awakening) amiibo
If a Royal Claymore is equipped during a Thunderstorm, it will attract Lightning due to being made of metal. Similarly, they are capable of conducting Electricity. They can also be picked up using the Magnesis Rune on the Sheikah Slate, and they will sink if they are dropped in Water. They are incapable of burning, which means they can be exposed to Fire and Scorching Climates without issue.
Royal Claymore belong to the Royal Gear equipment archetype, an intricate set of Weapons designed for the Royal Family of Hyrule.[3]
