Response
[edit]Thank you for the kind words! That would be a little too much to handle for me in my opinion. I like sticking to specific kinds of edits on here and not getting involved in the administrative side of things. Plus, you have to get accepted, and some may or may not see me as fit for that. Keep up your good work on here. Red Director (talk) 03:17, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
Huuuge plot
[edit]Hi Jcoolbro,
You've reverted my emptying of the plot section on the Art of Murder. Not everyone is a fan of WP:TNT - essentially, blow it up and start over - but it was a whopping 2,400+ words long description. WP:VG/CONTENT suggests a maximum of 700 words. Maybe you can trim it down? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 22:12, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Bad punctuation
[edit]You seem to like bad punctuation, as you just reverted my minor edits to Chester Carlson. Embrace mediocrity. — Quicksilver (Hydrargyrum)T @ 23:12, 27 March 2020 (UTC) @Hydrargyrum: Sorry. My mistake.
Reverting Edits are Unreasonable
[edit]My last edits were perfectly constructive.
One of Wikipedia's fundamental policies is to present topics from a neutral point of view. This means articles must represent each outside view fairly and proportionally, but not present any single view as true. Your edits appear to violate this principle and introduce bias to the article. Please use the talk page to discuss controversial edits—if you do not, it is likely that your edits will simply be removed by others. You should also be aware that repeatedly inserting something breaks the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. Ignoring this may get you blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. Jcoolbro (talk) 18:33, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. [edit]You removed my edit as unsourced. Here's the place the info was collected (which isn't a good source) https://old.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/fqqzki/worst_episode_ever_the_most_commonly_rated_shows/ but the IMDB links for the show already are included, that's why I didn't put them in the lede. How to include? 69.203.220.23 (talk) 14:54, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
@69.203.220.23:It is mentioned in the reception section that it is the lowest rated episode. Jcoolbro (talk) 15:02, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- So source is included but my edit was removed for being unsourced. This fact is very notable -I mean 31 years and it's the lowest of every single episode, that's real relevant-...why not include it in the lede to WP:BB Thanks 69.203.220.23 (talk) 15:05, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice
[edit]Hi Jcoolbro, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.
Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.
To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!
Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

[edit]Cite Unseen update
[edit]Hello! Thank you for using Cite Unseen. The script recently received a significant update, detailed below.
- You can now toggle which icons you do or don't want to see. See the configuration section for details. All icons are enabled by default except for the new generally reliable icon (described below).
- New categorizations/icons:
- Advocacy: Organizations that are engaged in advocacy (anything from political to civil rights to lobbying). Note that an advocacy group can be reliable; this indicator simply serves to note when a source's primary purpose is to advocate for certain positions or policies, which is important to keep in mind when consuming a source.
- Editable: Sites that are editable by the public, such as wikis (Wikipedia, Fandom) or some databases (IMDb, Discogs).
- Predatory journals: These sites charge publication fees to authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy.
- Perennial source categories: Cite Unseen will mark sources as generally reliable, marginally reliable, generally unreliable, deprecated, and blacklisted. This is based on Wikipedia's perennial sources list, which reflects community consensus on frequently discussed sources. Sources that have multiple categorizations are marked as varied reliability. Note that generally reliable icons are disabled by default to reduce clutter, but you can enable them through your custom config. A special thanks to Newslinger, whose new Sourceror API provides the perennial sources list in a clean, structured format.
- With the addition of the new categorizations, the biased source icon has been removed. This category was very broad, and repetitive to the new advocacy and perennial sources categorizations that are more informative.
If you have any feedback, requested features, or domains to add/remove, don't hesitate to bring it up on the script's talk page. Thank you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:24, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Tip of the Month
[edit]This tip is one of the many ways to combat spam on Wikipedia:
- On Wikipedia, articles either meet the General Notability Guideline or not. When you come across a new article, it is extremely important to determine if it is a real article, or just a spam article. Start with a search on Google, for reliable sources, if you get none in return, then look at the article for non-NPOV content, also scan the references section in the article to see what sources it uses, and check the 'other languages' section and Wikidata to see if it is on other Wikipedias. If other Wikipedias have the same content and/or a CSD or AfD tag (WP:AFD) it is likely spam or not notable, so you can then nominate it for deletion to get input, remember that CSD criterion does not always apply to these articles depending on the content/contex. Also remember to check for copyright violations via earwig's

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.
- AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
- The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.
Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
