English: Dating back to 1923, this is the oldest concrete utility pole in Japan. It was design to match the architecture of a bank building, funded by the Hakodate Branch of the former Hokkaido Takushoku Bank. Still in place at the bottom of Nijukken-saka hill in Hakodate, Japan, the utility pole is still in use to this day, making the oldest concrete utility pole in the country.
