There has been a recent influx of extended-confirmed edit requests turned host requests here. This page has been defunct since around 2014, and any talk here that is not related to the host lounge page should be moved to a different venue, or removed entirely. If you are interested in becoming a host, please apply at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host start.
Not done If this is a request to be added to the list of Hosts, since being unblocked you have not gained sufficient experience. Being a Host does not, however, give you any additional powers (apart from superhuman strength; invisibility; the power to read minds and to see through walls). You are welcome to post any questions you might have about editing Wikipedia at any time at the Teahouse question page. Nick Moyes (talk) 15:40, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 25 August 2020
Not done@Abhiraam.chyren: If this is a request to be added to the list of Hosts, we must decline at this time as you appear to be a brand new editor here and do not yet have sufficient editing experience to be able to help others when they encounter problems. You are welcome to watch, look and learn, or to chip in when you can genuinely assist someone when they do get stuck. Anyone can do that - you do not need to list yourself as a Host. Nor does being a Host give you any additional powers (apart from superhuman strength; invisibility; the power to read minds and to see through walls). You are welcome to post any questions you might have about editing Wikipedia at any time at the Teahouse question page. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 10:42, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 1 September 2020
I've been working hard to improve Wikipedia Quality since I created my Wiki Account. I request you to provide me the honor to host the Teahouse and serve new users with appropriate & best information they need. Let me contribute to the great world of WikiPedia. @爱疯了: Assuming you are here to contribute to this encyclopedia in a way that is useful to its readers, can you do us a favor and explain why you (and many other before you) are requesting to be a Teahouse host? Is there some social media post somewhere that is encouraging this? There is no benefit I can think of. If you look at WP:TH's current questions and mostly long, carefully worded, linked, personalized responses given by those of us who volunteer our substantial time here, does it look like something you would have the knowledge and experience to do? —[AlanM1 (talk)]—09:57, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done@Emojiidays63: Teahouse Hosts need a lot of prior experience editing Wikipedia in order that they can help others. We expect that broad experience and background knowledge might be gained in around 500 mainspace edits; you have eleven. It's probably rather a bit WP:TOOSOON. Header image
There's no Wikipedia talk:Teahouse/Header or File talk:WP teahouse logo.png, so asking here. Anyone know what's up with the Teahouse logo? It looks like someone dropped their yin-yang into the fractal treatment pond and waited till after lunch to find a rake to fish it out with. I did follow the trail back to commons:File:Oxherding pictures, No. 9.jpg, but no inexperienced editor coming to the Teahouse with an inquiry will be able to make the connection.
For clarity, I don't really have anything against the image, but I'm wondering if there's ever been a conversation about presenting newcomers with something more relevant than abstract art when they show up. Folly Mox (talk) 03:24, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
