Differences
Are CH3CH2OH is same as C2H5OH or are there any difference because the number of carbon and hydrogen are same. I need an answer , if there is a difference , what is it.--203.82.94.54 (talk) 16:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
NFPA
Not related but there should be a zero on the fire diamond in this article. It's just blank in the yellow square!

ethylene alkylation of acetic acid
From silicotungstic acid,
Silicotungstic acid is used to manufacture ethyl acetate by the alkylation of acetic acid by ethylene:
- C2H4 + CH3CO2H → CH3CO2C2H5
This section does not indicate a source so it cannot be entered onto the article. -- Mountainninja (talk) 20:49, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not sure what the problem is. Here is the section from silicotungstic acid:
- Silicotungstic acid is used to manufacture [[ethyl acetate]] by the [[alkylation]] of [[acetic acid]] by [[ethylene]]: :C2H4 + CH3CO2H → CH3CO2C2H5 It has also been commercialized for the oxidation of ethylene to acetic acid:<ref name=Misono/> :C2H4 + O2 → CH3CO2H
- Isn't Misono is a source?--Smokefoot (talk) 21:07, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
