Geneive Abdo (born 1960)[1] is an American journalist who has covered "numerous Islamic countries for over a decade."[2][ She was the correspondent in Iran for The Guardian and servered as a regular contributor to The Economist magazine and The International Herald Tribune, from 1998 to 2001.[2] From 1992-1993, she was the Middle East correspondent for The Dallas Morning News, based in Cairo and from 1990-1992, she worked as a correspondent based in Moscow for Reuters. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the The Boston Globe[3]

She was also a United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, liaison officer, starting in 2002.

She is married to Jonathan Lyons.
