Number of records

The number of entries seems to have been taken from the wrong place all these years. igdb.com/about currently states:

  • 450,762 Games.
  • 242,768 Unique game titles

After scraping IDs via API at the moment the site has:

  • 253674 once used IDs (games + companies + deactivated duplicates)
  • 235989 of them are working game IDs
  • 349366 game IDs x platform (if you count each specified platform for each ID separately)

So it is questionable where the number 450762 comes from and it is unlikely this is the real number of unique IDs we can use on the site. Solidest (talk) 14:45, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the site dev has confirmed in Discord that this number should be "game x platforms", although I still don't understand why I got 100k less. Nevertheless, I changed all the "number of records" values via web archive. Solidest (talk) 12:44, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
