(original) language of work

@Danrok: You added the statement original language of film or TV show (P364)French (Q150). I disagree with that – there’s only very little French in the movie, not enough to be significant. Is it okay if I remove the statement?

Also, we seem to have statements for both language of work or name (P407) and original language of film or TV show (P364), which seems redundant; is that correct, or does one imply the other? —DSGalaktos (talk) 21:56, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, The Matrix Reloaded is filed under the French-language category on Wikipedia, has French specified on IMDB, and here as well [1]. I'd recommend keeping it. What we're claiming is that the original version has lines spoken in these languages, even if it is only a few lines. Best to keep it black and white - "significant" is too subjective and just a matter of personal opinion.

I haven't used language of work or name (P407) so much myself, but I think that is intended for use with different editions of books which are published in different languages. There are two properties, so you can claim without confusion which language the book was originally written in, as well as which languages it was translated in to. @DSGalaktos: Also, there is a movie project here, [2], which is where things like this can be discussed, etc. Danrok (talk) 01:47, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Danrok, DSGalaktos: Unfortunately the original language of film or TV show (P364) will be deleted in the near future, so another property should be considered, isn't that? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 14:35, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Liuxinyu970226: Those two properties are being merged. The data is not being deleted. Danrok (talk) 16:31, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
