‘The Flash,’ ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Top Weekly Whip U.S. Streaming Charts

Warner Bros.’ The Flash, streaming on Max, led the Whip Media chart of streaming movies, while Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” again topped the Whip Media chart of streaming originals among U.S. consumers for the week ended Aug. 27.

In the DC Comics-based The Flash, which began streaming on Max Aug. 25, Ezra Miller returns as The Flash/Barry Allen in the superhero’s first-ever standalone feature film. Worlds collide when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past.

“Only Murders in the Building,” the third season of which started streaming weekly Aug. 8, is a murder mystery series starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

Debuting at No. 2 on the streaming originals chart was the “Star Wars” universe series “Ahsoka,” which began streaming on Disney+ Aug. 23. Set after the fall of the Empire, it follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. 

Rising from No. 4 to No. 3 on the streaming originals chart was “And Just Like That …,” season two of which began streaming on Max in weekly episodes on June 22 with the season wrapping up Aug. 24. The comedy-drama series is a revival and sequel to “Sex and the City.”

Debuting at No. 2 on the streaming movies chart was You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, which started streaming on Netflix Aug. 25. Based on the young adult novel of the same name, the coming-of-age comedy-drama is produced by and stars Adam Sandler.

Landing at No. 3 on the streaming movies chart was Vacation Friends 2, which began streaming on Hulu Aug. 25. The buddy comedy sequel follows friends on a trip to the Caribbean. The original Vacation Friends landed at No. 9 on the streaming movies chart.
