Reiki is a technique for stress reduction which is also claimed to promote healing. It is said to create many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. The technique is thought to have originated in Tibet, but was rediscovered by a Japanese Buddhist early in the 20th century.
