Includes an insightful text written for this work in 1948 by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, a major Picasso art dealer. Brassai met Picasso in 1932 when he was commissioned to take a series of pictures of the artist's studio; between 1932 and 1946, Brassai photographed all of Picasso's sculpted works.
