The exhibition 'Barcel� before Barcel�' presents a selection of the early, less well-known work of the Mallorcan Miquel Barcel�. It is work produced between 1973 and the year of his definitive installation in the international context, when he participated in the Kassel Documenta in 1982. It comprises a total of over a hundred works, many of them unpublished, presenting some of the most significant, constant lines throughout the artist's career. They come from Barcel�'s personal collection and different public and private institutions in Spain and France, and from private collections. The exhibition has been divided into six sections: Bestiary, Vanitas, Experimental poetry, Books, Portraits and self-portraits and Landscape elements.… (more)
