The series follows the adventures of Lady Georgie Rannoch, half-sister of Hamish Rannoch, "Binky" Duke of Glengarry and Glen Ross. They are the great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria, through one of her daughters. Binky is the son of his father's first wife, while Georgie is the daughter of his second wife, the beautiful former Cockney actress, now Claire Daniels. Claire bolted when Georgie was very young and has run through a string of wealthy lovers and husbands. She is not very maternal. Georgie is in her early twenties. Although she had a Season, she is unmarried, although her cousins, the Royal Family are always willing to find a dreadful prince or aristocrat that she could marry.Unfortunately, her father committed suicide shortly after losing most of his fortune. This and the death taxes have left the Rannoch somewhat cash strapped, at least for their class. Binky's duchess, Hilda Ermintrude Rannoch, "Fig," while very impressed with her own position is even cheaper than she needs to be, resents having to support Georgie, and is very unpleasant.Georgie, fed up, strikes out for London to try and find a job in the Depression era, without any job skills. The Royals would be happy to find a position for Georgie as a lady-in-waiting to some elderly relation living in the country, but Georgie is reluctant. (English, Unclassified)

Georgie is a minor British royal, daughter and sister to two Dukes of Rannoch, and great-granddaughter of Queen Victioria, who solves mysteries when she's not busy getting into scrapes while she figures out how to live with no income and flirts with the dashing Darcy O'Mara.
