The best out of the trilogy by far and ended in an epic way. Much different though as not so much horror and more thriller crime which seemed to be more my style this time as I enjoyed this way more than previous two. Entertaining the whole way through with a fantastic cast and had me on edge with every thrilling moment. The film still was quite violent with some shocking brutal scenes with lots of blood to enjoy. I loved the tone for the film being set in the 80's made for some fun styles and the soundtrack to match was amazing. Seeing old Hollywood too when people would call violence and sex on screen the work of satan was an interesting look. Night stalker plot was brilliant too with a few surprises that happen. Mia Goth continues her iconic role of Maxine too and that character is really interesting this film with a very strong performance for the final run. Ending was amazing with all coming full circle and ending in a very satisfying way. It just felt like an epic movie and super investing and entertaining. Definitely one of the best this year and deserved the hype it built up.
Didn't think I'd be watching Green Goblin and Gwen Stacy make out in close up but here we are! It's a very weird and obscure film with a lot to think about as it's not always upfront with what it's trying to say but once you get your head around it then it's definitely more enjoyable. Very artsy way of going about it including how it's shot, performed and dialogue. There was a very odd continuous way he shot with torso shots missing out the heads that didn't always look good. The three mains Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and the legendary Willem Dafoe were all great. These stories being told are very unique and they all feel like they are like cult stories, very creepy and eerie a lot of the times too especially the one theme being played was quite creepy. It is very enjoyable to watch these people perform within this wild world. A bit of dark and subtle comedy used in this aswell. Soundtrack is fantastic too with the classic song used in the trailer being included. If you like very weird movies you'll probably like this one and if you have a marvel fan fiction for Goblin and Gwen (for some reason) you'd definitely get a kick out of this.
A fantastic and beautiful film that shows off one of the busiest cities during the outbreak in a very chaotic way. It wastes no time at getting to the good stuff but does give a little bit of character development beforehand to get you settled in before the start, seeing New York deal with the breakout is chaos with lots of people being slaughtered and seeing people trample over other people just to get away. New York looks great all destroyed creating a visually pleasing environment for the story. It did have its moments to make you jump and definitely an intense film that really kept me on the edge. The two main characters were brilliant, the relationship they formed was really rewarding and created an emotional story. Not forgetting the cat who is also a great little actor, seeing the cat cause mischief shows how much of a burden and danger pets cause you in this world. Joseph Quinn also a phenomenal performance and a very sweet character. The relationship and the characters did almost get me to tear up at times, I just found them to be fascinating and good hearted souls throughout. I wouldn't say this movie did anything groundbreaking or new and actually gave me questions to a few things regarding the aliens but a brilliant addition for sure! It's a lovely heartfelt story that is very human focused set in a crumbling world. Also I wish those creatures were real and hired by the cinemas so when people talk they get obliterated. It really is fantastic and emotionally investing, on par with the first film.
