Most bounty hunters stop chasing criminals when they die, but “The Bondsman” is built different.
Vanity Fair unveiled the first look at Kevin Bacon and more from Prime Video’s action-horror-thriller series, premiering April 3.
Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who gets a second chance at life by agreeing to track down demons who’ve escaped from Hell.
“It is very violent and has a lot of blood and scares, but it also has some tongue-in-cheek aspects,” Bacon told Vanity Fair. “It’s oftentimes funny, and it also has a lot of heart.”
Jennifer Nettles (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Beth Grant (Donnie Darko), Jolene Purdy (“Under the Dome”), Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Maxwell Jenkins (“Lost in Space”) also star.
Bacon and Nettles, each accomplished musicians in their own right, wrote several songs for the show.
The series was created by Grainger David, with Erik Oleson serving as showrunner.

Maya Hawke appeared on the latest episode of “Happy Sad Confused” and says a famous Hollywood talent once called her out for leaving her mouth open too much during takes. The “Stranger Things” favorite was advised that she would look prettier with our mouth shut.
“A director told me — actually, I think it was a producer, but they were in cahoots — told me I looked prettier with my mouth closed and that I should close my mouth after I speak more often,” Hawke revealed. “I do often let my mouth hang open depending on what character I’m playing, because I feel like jaw tension and mouth tension is so important to express what kind of person you are.”
“Where you leave that, I think, is really important,” she continued. “And I was really upset about being told that I should close my mouth more to look prettier, because I...

Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio Feud? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood featured Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt. But did you know the actors once feuded because of Robbie?
Martin Scorsese’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is definitely one of the classics. It featured an ensemble star cast, including Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Austin Butler, and others. However, days after the movie’s premiere, there were reports alleging that Pitt and DiCaprio got into a feud over gaining Robbie’s attention. Though neither of the actors ever spoke about it, the media and the internet were going abuzz about it.
Many instances proved that Pitt and DiCaprio might have grown a soft corner for the actress, as they were often spotted flirting with her during the interviews. But when the magazine reported that they were fawning over getting Robbie’s attention, it...

Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley and Guy Pearce have joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s next film, “The Dog Stars.”
They’ll star alongside Jacob Elordi, who was hired in January after Paul Mescal exited the 20th Century film due to scheduling issues. Production is expected to commence in Italy at the end of April.
Based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel, “The Dog Stars” was adapted for the screen by Mark L. Smith (“Twisters”). Set in a post-apocalyptic society after a catastrophic flu virus wipes out nearly all of humanity, the story follows a pilot named Hig (Elordi) who befriends a cranky gunman (Brolin) as they try to outlast a roaming band of scavengers. Qualley is playing a character named Cima, a young doctor and the daughter of a jaded rancher (Pearce), whom Hig meets on the journey.

Get over here... and check out the first official posters for Mortal Kombat II!
Producer Todd Garner has been sharing teasing behind-the-scenes photos from the sequel for quite a while, but we finally have some official promotional material via a poster spotlighting Karl Urban as "Johnny F*cking Cage," and a banner featuring the movie's updated logo.
The Boys and Star Trek actor doesn't appear to be in his classic video game costume as the beloved Mk character, but that's likely because this is a movie-within-a-movie poster for one of Cage's action flicks, "Uncaged Fury."
The cocky Hollywood star turned heroic freedom fighter's debut was set up at the end of the first movie when Cole Young (Lewis Tan) told his fellow kombatants that he knew someone "out in LA" that could aid them in the impending rematch against the forces of Outworld.

Mortal Kombat director Simon McQuoid is back at the helm for the sequel Mortal Kombat 2, and while the video game adaptation wrapped production back in January of 2024 after a bumpy ride through the year of the strikes, they had to go back for some reshoots last summer. So we still don’t know when this movie is going to be released – but it is starting to take some steps forward. Back in November, we learned that Mortal Kombat 2 has been rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, and language. Now, a logo for the film has been unveiled, along with a poster featuring the character of actor Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban. You can check those images out at the bottom of this article.
The screenplay for Mortal Kombat 2 has been written by Jeremy Slater, who was the lead writer on the Marvel / Disney+ series Moon Knight.

When it comes to Westerns on the small screen, few are as iconic as Norman Macdonnell and John Meston's "Gunsmoke." Based on the radio drama of the same name, the show debuted on CBS in 1955 and went on to become one of the longest-running television scripted series in American television history, producing over 600 episodes. Sadly, though, "Gunsmoke" rode off into the sunset after 20 seasons, but like all good gunslingers who can't stay down, it came back with a bang. "Gunsmoke" produced five television films after the series ended, and thanks to reruns and streaming, new generations continue to discover the classic TV Western.
"Gunsmoke" takes place in Dodge City, Kansas, and follows U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon (James Arness) and his deputies as they protect the town from outlaws, outsiders, troublemakers, and other wrong sorts. Why Did Bruce Lee’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Fight Scene Spark An Outrage? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood gave fans plenty to discuss, but one scene nearly derailed the conversation. The flashback fight between Brad Pitt’s stuntman Cliff Booth and Bruce Lee, played by Mike Moh, stirred major controversy. According to HuffPost, an early version of the scene would have humiliated Lee even further, showing him losing the fight outright.
The film became Tarantino’s biggest opening weekend hit and took liberties with Hollywood history. But while real-life figures like Sharon Tate and Steve McQueen got respectful portrayals, Lee – one of the most influential martial artists ever – was turned into a “bloviating a**,” as some critics put it. In the scene, Lee bragged that he could “cripple” Muhammad Ali, prompting Booth to mock him. The two squared off,...

As the rumor mill continues to swirl for Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot, the latest update comes to us from a more reliable source than an anonymous scooper as journalist Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider newsletter) is now reporting that Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood; The Gray Man; The Fabelmans) is being eyed for the role of Kitty Pryde in X-Men.
He also doubles down on his previous report that Sadie Sink (Stranger Things; The Whale; The Glass Castle) is the current frontrunner to land the role of Jean Grey, and adds that Harris Dickinson (Babygirl; The Iron Claw; The King's Man) is being looked to play the team's leader Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops.
At the time of this posting, Butters is 15, Sink is 22, and Dickinson is 28, so Marvel definitely wants younger talent to take on these storied roles and likely play them for the next decade plus.

“The Haunting of Hill House” star Victoria Pedretti hyped fellow actor – and co-creator of Netflix’s “Anne+” – Hanna van Vliet at International Film Festival Rotterdam Sunday evening.
“You are a leader,” she told her.
“True. I’m a leader,” responded van Vliet, admitting the change in the industry starts with “diversifying the teams.”
“We made ‘Anne+’ without any money, so we had all this freedom and could cast and hire whoever we wanted. People get better at their jobs and later, they will be the ones in power. We have to start small and grow everyone into ‘the big guy.’ Girl. Person.”
While the system is “corrupt,” you have to “know it in order to infiltrate it,” added Pedretti.

Now that Quentin Tarantino is no longer making "The Movie Critic," plans for his final movie are up in there. The "Pulp Fiction" and "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood" director has vowed to retire from filmmaking after helming 10 features, and it seems that he's in a funk because he wants his farewell flick to be perfect. What's more, he's even pondered bowing out with his current oeuvre, believing that "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is a worthy swansong, especially in the current climate.
During an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival's "Elvis Mitchell Suite" (via Entertainment Weekly), Tarantino clamped down on his reluctance to rush into his final film. He revealed that he's working on a play and feeling disillusioned with the cinematic landscape, which is why filmmaking isn't at the top of his to-do list. In his own words:

Quentin Tarantino isn’t too happy with the current state of cinema, even going so far as to say that 2019 was “the last f***ing year of movies.“
The director recently spoke with film critic Elvis Mitchell at the Sundance Film Festival and revealed that he’s working on a play right now. “If you’re wondering what I’m doing right now, I’m writing a play, and it’s going to be probably the next thing I end up doing,” he said. “If it’s a fiasco, I probably won’t turn it into a movie. But if it’s a smash hit? It might be my last movie.” Tarantino added that writing a play has been a genuine challenge for him, and then he took a stab at the modern movie industry.
“That’s a big f***ing deal pulling [a play] off, and I don’t know if I can.

It’s been nearly six years since the release of Quentin Tarantino’s most recent film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Over that time, we’ve seen the film industry change quite a bit. Nowadays, films that are released in theaters are being sent to VOD pretty quickly after their theatrical debuts. And we still have a large number that just get sent directly to streaming. And according to Tarantino, this shows just how bad the film industry has gotten over the years.

For the past dozen years, the eventual Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actor has hailed from a Best Picture nominee. But that streak could finally end this year, based on Gold Derby’s predictions.
Kieran Culkin is the odds-on frontrunner to win Best Supporting Actor for his performance in A Real Pain. He plays Benjamin “Benji” Kaplan, who embarks on a roadtrip through Poland with his cousin, David Kaplan (Jesse Eisenberg), following the death of their grandmother. The Searchlight Pictures film also received a Best Original Screenplay nomination for Eisenberg, who directed, wrote, produced, and starred in the project, but it was snubbed in Best Picture.
Culkin has dominated the precursor awards and should he prevail at the Oscars, he would end a 12-year streak that began after Christopher Plummer won for Beginners (2011). Plummer notably claimed this award at age 82, making him the oldest acting winner at that time (an...

Quentin Tarantino just erected a gravestone for moviemaking. According to the auteur, it’s R.I.P. for Hollywood as a whole.
Tarantino said during the Sundance Film Festival (via Variety) that the definition of films has changed since the pandemic. The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” director deemed theatrical releases as a “show-pony exercise” before streaming.
“Well, what the fuck is a movie now? What — something that plays in theaters for a token release for four fucking weeks?” Tarantino said. “All right, and by the second week you can watch it on television. I didn’t get into all this for diminishing returns. I mean, it was bad enough in ’97. It was bad enough in 2019, and that was the last fucking year of movies. That was a shit deal, as far as I was concerned, the fact that it’s gotten drastically worse? And it’s a show-pony exercise.

Quentin Tarantino is "in no hurry" to make his final movie. The 'Pulp Fiction' director - who has Leo, four, and a two-year-old daughter with wife Daniella Pick - has long declared he plans to retire after making his upcoming 10th film but he has now admitted he wants to focus on his family life and wait until his kids are older so they can join him on set and enjoy the experience.Speaking to Elvis Mitchell at the Sundance FIlm Festival on Monday (27.01.25), Variety reports he said: “I’m in no hurry to actually jump into production."I’ve been doing that for 30 years. Next month my son turns five, and I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. When I’m in America, I’m writing. When I’m in Israel? I’m an abba, which means father."The idea of jumping on a voyage when they’re too...

Margaret Qualley has worked with the likes of Shane Black (The Nice Guys), Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness), and Ethan Cohen (Drive-Away Dolls), and she had a prominent role in Coralie Fargeat’s Oscar-nominated body horror film The Substance. She has more interesting collaborations ahead, as she has worked with Richard Linklater on the Lorenz Hart biopic Blue Moon (where she stars alongside Ethan Hawke), re-teamed with Ethan Cohen for Honey Don’t!, where she co-stars with Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner, and Talia Ryder (Qualley plays a private investigator looking into a cult led by Evans), and will be working with Sanctuary director Zachary Wigon again on the psychological horror thriller Victorian Psycho. The Wigon film will be heading into production soon, and during an interview with IndieWire, Qualley confirmed that she’s working on her British accent.

Margaret Qualley is teasing just how “incredibly surreal” it was to star in a Richard Linklater film.
Qualley, who appears in Linklater’s upcoming Lorenz Hart biopic “Blue Moon,” told IndieWire that she has been trying to work with the auteur for more than a decade.
“I have been a longtime fan of Richard Linklater,” Qualley said. “I think I auditioned for him the first time 10 years ago.”
While Qualley only revealed that the film she auditioned for was in fact made, she did not say its title… although Linklater’s ’70s college-centric “Everybody Loves Some!!” was released in 2016.
Qualley’s admiration for Linklater was cemented with his 2014 feature “Boyhood,” which felt especially personal to Qualley as she was the same age as its lead character. Oscar-nominated “Boyhood” was filmed across 12 years, with Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette starring. The feature was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Leonardo DiCaprio has been a Hollywood giant since he appeared in two breakout roles in 1993. The actor accepted roles in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? and This Boy's Life. Gilbert Grape helped DiCaprio earn his first Academy Award nomination, and it would be the first of many. After all, he has enjoyed critical renown since the early days of his career. Through today, the actor has earned seven Oscar nominations, while bringing home one win for Best Actor in The Revenant.
It is hard to overstate the renown that DiCaprio's career has received. He starred in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Inception (2010), The Great Gatsby (2013), Django Unchained (2012), Killers of the Flower Moon (2024), and more. With such a prestigious career, DiCaprio has ushered in over $7 billion at the box office, and his career is far from over. DiCaprio's best movies are filled with romance, mystery, and acclaim.

Quentin Tarantino’s career is one defined by bold stories, vivacious dialogue, and a deep respect for film history, which includes helping one actor after an injury. Debuting with Reservoir Dogs in 1992, the director quickly became known for his unique approach to cinema by combining genres, breaking narrative conventions, and often pushing the boundaries of violence and language. Tarantino’s influence has shaped both mainstream Hollywood and independent cinema, cementing him as one of the most distinctive voices in the film industry with everything from Pulp Fiction (1994) to Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019).
Tarantino’s dedication to his craft is not just evident in his films, but also in his deep admiration for the work of others. Throughout his career, he has consistently acknowledged the filmmakers and actors who have influenced him, often revitalizing their careers with his distinctive touch. The Best Film Ensemble category at the Screen Actors Guild Awards can occasionally be a tough one to predict. Gold Derby’s pundits erroneously thought that 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood would prevail over Parasite, while 2016’s Hidden Figures was correctly chosen by only one of the editors, experts, or top 24 users — combined. Well, this year’s top race looks to be less of a head-scratcher and more of a coronation, as Gold Derby’s 2025 SAG Awards predictions overwhelmingly favor Wicked to win with 17/10 odds. Talk about popular!
The SAG nominations were announced on Jan. 8, with Wicked leading all other films with five bids: Best Ensemble, Best Actress (Cynthia Erivo), Best Supporting Actress (Ariana Grande), Best Supporting Actor (Jonathan Bailey), and Best Stunt Ensemble. Universal Pictures’ big-budget adaptation of the beloved Broadway stage musical is not expected to win any other trophies with the acting guild, though that’s par for the course,...

Graham Norton says there's still one A-list actor he wants on the show (and it could happen in 2025)

For nearly 20 years, Graham Norton has chatted with the biggest names in entertainment. But there's still one A-list actor left on the list who Norton wants to see on The Graham Norton Show.
Norton's BBC late-night TV show debuted in 2007. Since then, he's welcomed nearly every notable actor, musician, comedian, and athlete to his famous sofa (including some boring ones). The Graham Norton Show guest list can certainly go toe-to-toe with any late-night show in the United States.
In an interview on This Morning, Norton admitted there's still one person left after all these years who hasn't been on the show. Brad Pitt appears to be Norton's white whale.
Asked who he'd still like to get on the show, Norton replied "We've still never had Brad Pitt. Never had him. He's about the last of those kind of old-school kind of Hollywood stars we haven't had."
Norton is (mostly) correct in his assessment.

After the collapse of the studio system, when actors were finally given more autonomy regarding their careers and were much more free to choose the types of roles and films they'd appear in, the true test of an actor became what happened when and if they reached megastardom. Some stars love the limelight so much that they try and give their public what it is they think they want to see over and over again, and can find themselves feeling burned out or too typecast in the process. Others become much more reclusive, either outright refusing easy paycheck jobs or being extremely picky about their projects. Then there are those stars who manage to straddle the line between the commercial and artistic sides of their vocation, and are able to spin their newfound clout into a mixture of roles that demonstrate not only their range, but also their creative curiosity.

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is not your average Hollywood story. It’s a blend of history, fantasy, and nostalgia wrapped in an timeless package.
Set in 1969, it immerses you in the world of rising counterculture and a Hollywood at a crossroads. The movie blends real-life people and events, like Sharon Tate, Bruce Lee, and Charles Manson, with made-up characters like Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth.

And of course, this is Tarantino we’re talking about, so he doesn’t just stick to the facts—he flips them upside down. Instead of just telling the story as it happened, the director uses his signature style to create something totally unpredictable. This movie stands out because it’s a love letter to Hollywood’s golden era.

Seven years went by between the time when director Coralie Fargeat made her feature directorial debut with a very cool revenge movie that was appropriately titled Revenge – you can read our 8/10 review of the film at This Link – and when she came back with an “explosive feminist take on body horror” called The Substance, which stars Demi Moore (Ghost), who won a Golden Globe for her performance, and Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). You can read our 9/10 review of The Substance Here. Now we’re left hoping that Fargeat won’t take another seven years to make her third film – but whatever that ends up being, she has assured all of us that it will not be a sequel to The Substance.
When Variety asked her if The Substance will be getting a sequel, Fargeat answered, “Oh, no. Oh, no. The point of this movie is to...

Dakota Fanning has a small, but memorable, role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and the actress has spoken about her time on set and her relationship with Quentin Tarantino. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino's ninth feature film and fits in the same category as Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained as a historical film, but with a twist. In this case, Tarantino gives a retelling of the Manson Family murders but indulges in some warranted historical rewriting that ends with Sharon Tate's murderers on the wrong end of a can of dog food.
Stylistically, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is more similarly aligned with Pulp Fiction, however. It's told linearly, but it's separated into unrelated scenes and moments that serve to round out the colorful world and characters Tarantino has created rather than drive the story forward. Was Jennifer Lawrence almost cast jn The Hateful Eight? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Tarantino actually wanted Lawrence to play Daisy Domergue, the ruthless, sharp-tongued outlaw at the heart of his gritty western flick. But alas, scheduling demons struck hard.
Tarantino, a self-proclaimed huge Jennifer Lawrence fan, wasn’t just casually thinking about it. He told Entertainment Weekly, “I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan. I think I’ve been on record of saying that her and David O. Russell’s relationship is very William Wyler-Bette Davis-like, and that’s a good thing to be like. And I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything.” That’s some serious admiration right there. But reality? Reality laughed in Tarantino’s face.
Lawrence was swamped with Joy, The Hunger Games press marathon, and just about every blockbuster-related obligation under the sun.

Sydney Sweeney has been steadily acting for over 15 years, but her big break, arguably, did not come until 2019’s Euphoria. Like Euphoria, many of Sweeney’s early roles in her career have been on television, but she has expanded into movies as well with blockbusters like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, horror like Immaculate, and rom-coms like Anyone But You.
Sweeney might have a reputation for appearing like a classic blonde bombshell, but she appears in movies and TV projects as more than simply a sex symbol. Her roles have been varied, even if they are not always as well received, like 2024’s Madame Web, her first foray into the superhero genre. The Kano character didn’t make it through the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie alive, getting taken out with a garden gnome to the eye… but that isn’t stopping Josh Lawson from reprising the role in the sequel Mortal Kombat 2. Director Simon McQuoid is back at the helm for the sequel, working from a screenplay written by Jeremy Slater, who was the lead writer on the Marvel / Disney+ series Moon Knight. Last year, Slater said that working on the project had been “really fun so far. … I’m working really closely with the director and the studios, and the game guys, and I think—I can’t say anything about the actual story, but I think they definitely learned some lessons the last time around in terms of,...

Brad Pitt celebrated his second Oscar win thanks to his stuntman role in the Quentin Tarantino film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Although he’d previously won a Best Picture victory for producing “12 Years a Slave” (2013), the Best Supporting Actor trophy was his first for acting, despite three previous nominations (plus an additional two in Picture).
He could easily have become just another pretty Hollywood face – a flash in the pan romantic lead or action star. However Pitt studied acting and worked his way up the ladder to become one of the industry’s most versatile and most well-recognized actors, as well as one of the most influential as the owner of a successful award-winning production company.
Born in Oklahoma, he was raised in Springfield, Mo, where he participated in a variety of sports and activities in high school, and went on to college with a major in journalism.

Just before Halloween back in 2022, it was announced that Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner – who both have experience working in the Scream franchise, as Fitzgerald was in the Scream TV series and Gallner appeared in the 2022 Scream movie – were set to star in the “cat and mouse thriller” Strange Darling. The movie was given a theatrical release back in August, and JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols loved it; you can read his 9/10 review at This Link. It has since moved on to digital and physical media releases… but distributor Magenta Light Productions feels that it should have performed better at the box office, and believe it would have if the film had a better marketing campaign. So they have filed a lawsuit against their marketing partner, Spellbinder.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Magenta Light Productions, in a fraud and breach of contract lawsuit filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court,...

Todd Phillips' Joker: Folie à Deux was not a popular movie (32% on Rotten Tomatoes and just $206 million at the global box office), but several notable names have come out in defence of the sequel, including Quentin Tarantino.
During an appearance on the Bret Easton Ellis podcast back in October, the Once Upon a Time In Hollywood director told the host that he very much enjoyed the film, and commended Phillips for being like the Joker himself by saying "f*ck you" to the audience and the studio.
“I really, really liked it, really. A lot. Like, tremendously, and I went to see it expecting to be impressed by the filmmaking,” Tarantino said. “But I thought it was going to be an arms-length, intellectual exercise that ultimately I wouldn’t think worked like a movie, but that I would appreciate it for what it is. And I’m just nihilistic enough...
